Vehicle Detail
1950 Studebaker Champion VIN G605796Rare car in good conditionReal head turner, attracts attention wherever it goes This 1950 Bullet Nose Studebaker Champion is a rare find. These were only made in 1950 and 1951. This car is nearly all original. It has a flathead 6-cylnder engine, with a 3-speed on the column with overdrive and the famous Studebaker Hill Holder. All electrical and gauges work. It appears to have been totally rewired a few years back, the wiring looks like new. While the vehicle has a power top, it isn’t currently hooked up. The PTO shafts on each side are there and turn when you push the button so I am assuming it would work if hooked up by someone who knew how. The top raises and lowers easily by hand. The undercarriage appears to have been cleaned and painted and has no rust. The trunk floor, rear fenders and rocker panels all look good and appear to have all been professionally replaced. The floor pans also look good. The paint job on this Studebaker Champion was done less than three years ago. It was sanded, primered, sealed and pained with four coats of single stage acrylic enamel paint in the original “Maui Blue” color. Metallic flake was added to the paint to add brightness and beauty. It is in great shape except for a small scratch about an inch long on the driver side rear fender and a blemish on the wheel lip of the front passenger side fender. Nearly all of the chrome has been redone. Bumpers and gravel guard will need to be reworked to show quality. The upholstery is good with no rips or tears. There is a barely visible, small water spot on the seat portion of the front seat. This could likely be detailed out by a professional. In the trunk you will find the original jack and tools for changing a tire. The spare tire is in the trunk and original owner’s manual can be found in the glove box. The tires are like new and it has all four original hubcaps. This vehicle runs good and doesn’t smoke. While generally used for shorter trips, it drives quite well. It appears to be the correct mileage based on looking at the pedal, knobs and steering wheel. This is a fun car to drive and attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. It’s a rare car in good condition. We encourage and are happy to arrange inspections. The car is located in Indianapolis IN. HAPPY BIDDING!
