Vehicle Detail
This 1967 F85 Town Sedan has been my daily driver (summer only) for the past 2 seasons. It is 100% original and has never been touched other than the few items I will list below. It is an absolute joy to drive. It easier to drive than any other vehicle I own. It is quiet, so quiet that my kids often tell me it isn't running when we are sitting at a red light. Every item works perfectly and as it should, just as from the factory. This is a true 26,000 original mile car. The original date coded spark plug wires are still sparking and driving the 'olds action-line 6'. I would not hesitate to take this car across country today. It rides perfectly smooth down the road on the 4 bias-ply tires that were installed in early 1972. If heading south or west, it might get warm without air-conditioning, however, opening the 4 windows, and then the wing windows keeps you quite comfortable and cool. The interior is almost mint. The ONLY 2 issues are the 1/2 inch tear on the drivers armrest, and another even smaller tear on the drivers door panel. There are no other rips tears, stains or issues with the interior. The dash is perfect, the seats are perfect, the headliner is perfect, the sun visors are perfect, the rubber mat floor is perfect. All handles, knobs, gauges all are mint and operate correctly. ALL of the window trim rubber is intact and perfect, along with the felt/brush. The body is also near perfect. Admittedly, this car is from the rust belt. The 2 front quarters have rust through, as well the back quarters have small rust through as well. I had a professional restoration company provide me with some quotes. Their advice included replacing the bad panels/portions, and color match paint the lower areas at a cost of $1700. Because it only affects the quarters and the quality condition of the rest of the car, they stated that a frame off restoration would hurt value and they would not recommend. The buy it now price includes the reduction of the $1700 cost to perform this work. The floor pans are perfect with surface rust only. The trunk is perfect, with surface rust only. The engine compartment is perfect with almost no surface rust at all. The battery compartment is solid with some very minor surface rust, and NO holes or rot. All trim is there and in excellent condition, although there a few small dings. Items that have been replaced: Heater core, water pump, shocks, front brake drum pads, air cleaner, oil, oil filter. To the best of my knowledge, every other part on the car is as exactly as it came from the Oldsmobile factory in Lansing Michigan.
