Vehicle Detail

I've owned this CB750 for 5 years and enjoyed it very much. When I bought the bike years ago, I searched for an original example that didn't have all the crazy modifications that were popular in the 70's, like king and queen seats, chopped frames, extended forks, modified exhausts, etc... Most of the bikes that I found either had these modifications or they had them previously, so the bikes never seemed quite right. After a lot of searching I found an original example about 250 miles from my house - and after talking to the gentleman selling it, I bought it sight unseen, and made the trek to pick it up. He had owned it for about 15 years, and said he kept in indoors and never changed a thing. I was very pleased when I picked it up. It was jus as described and ran like a top. After I got it, I decided to give it a freshening up - new cables, brake pads, tune up, electronic ignition, tapered neck bearings, gauge faces, and some more stuff I don't remember. A local vintage Honda mechanic did all the work - it turned out great. I've put about 3000 miles on it with no trouble at all. The biggest thing that I did is have the tank and side covers redone. (Candy Gold). I sent them to Motorcycle Painting by Blake (google it) to do the work, because I wanted the paint to be top notch, and Blake does the paint like Honda did it originally with a metallic undercoat. Blake does the painting on Victor Worlds $40,000 sandcast bikes, so I figured he'd do a good job. He did an amazing job. In fact, he put the picture of this bike on his gallery page. When I had the paint done, I also had a custom cafe seat painted at the same time. The seat is very high quality (it was about $400), and is interchangeable with the original seat, and the lock and hinges work the same. I think it looks great either way, and the pictures in the auction show it both with the original seat and the cafe seat. The cafe seat is comfortable and firm. The original seat is in amazing condition. Both will go with the bike.So basically the bike is 90%+ original bike. The chrome and other bits on the bike are very nice - but they aren't "show" quality. Just a very well taken care of original. The bike could probably use a professional detailing if you want it to look really snazzy - but it is so nice the way it is, I don't bother. In fact, I don't like describing condition, because everybody has their own ideas. Use the pictures as your guide to that. Understand that I ride this bike, so it has minor wear that you would find on a well taken care of bike. I want the buyer to be happy with the bike. As far as mechanical condition, it is excellent. Everything on the bike works exactly like it should, It starts immediately, no smoke, runs very smoothly. This isn't a bike you'll get and then start fiddling with the carbs or something else. It's is set up very well. About the only gripe I could make is the front disc brake squeals a little the first few times you use the brake. The most recent maintenance that has been done is new front and rear sprockets, O-ring chain, and an oil change. I have a clear Maryland title in my name, original keys, and owners manual.A $500 deposit by paypal at the close of the auction, and the balance in cash or cleared check prior to pick up or shipping. Buyer must make shipping arrangements, but I will try to help as need on my end to make it go smoothly.
