Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1968 Corvette big block 427 convertible. Original motor and trans both rebuilt. All numbers match. 427/390hp TH-400 transmission. Original carb, intake, distributor, factory transistor ignition!, original radiator, brake booster, new water pump. In 2012, the car was repainted in correct Silverstone Silver (986). Interior is very rare Gunmetal (442). Paint is excellent with very few minor flaws, 9 our of 10. See pics of tiny chips in paint. New carpet, new seat covers, seat backs, kick panels, door sills, new door panels, new console, new LH and RH dash pads, etc.Frame was media blasted and repainted 3 years back. Power steering and brakes. All gauges working besides clock and tach needs to be hooked up. Vacuum system just gone thru, works perfect including wipers & headlights. All lights, signals, even fiber optics work, no money spared on electrical. Original Quadrajet carb just rebuilt. New choke included. New battery, new alternator, new regulator, new hoses, new belts, new thermostat, new temp sensor, rebuilt headlight actuators, new master cylinder, new brake booster, brakes redone, new plugs, etc, etc. Well over $40K invested, starting a business, need 1 less toy! Bought off the 2nd owner who had it stored inside since the mid 90's. I've spent the past few months bringing it back to it's old glory. Very rare to find a true factory silver 427 with original engine and trans, not to mention a convertible. Top is in excellent shape. Just added brand-new true GM rally wheels (1968 version) and new BFG Radial TA tires (255/60/15). Over $9,000 spent in the last 2 weeks finishing the car up. Please don't waste your time low balling, this is a true 427 convertible with original engine and drivetrain and has been newly restored, the price is very reasonable for a car like this. Please note, a few pictures show prior wheel set and the new rallys and BFGs. New kick panels and LH dash pad not pictured. Please, do not waste your time or mine with offers in the 20's, it's not a 20-something-thousand dollar car, if you want to spend that, look for a 350 or 327 or a NOM car. There's another '68 427 in LA, he's firm at $55K, mines in better condition too. Serious buyers please call 619-577-3006 with questions.
