Up for sale is a 1966 Corvette Coupe with original Big-Block engine and 1967 Stinger hood. This is an example of raw power with that Sixties sound, brute force with an aggressive stance. When you hear it coming, you know what you're expecting to see and it does not disappoint. With 427 cubic inches and 390 rated horsepower, it's a living icon of the glory days of the All-American muscle car, when engines were big and gasoline was cheap. The car is not restored but a sharp driver. Restoration has been a "work in progress" for the past three owners. Car was gelcoated and repainted Corvette Torch Red in 2002 and clear-coated and the windshield replaced. Interior was started but not completed with headliner, door panels, dash pads, glove box, leather seats, visors, and carpet being added. Dash cluster and console are tired and need attention. Engine has been refurbished but not rebuilt. It is original to the car, L-36 427/390 HP. Transmission is 4-speed M21 Muncie close-ratio. Rear end is supposed to be Positraction but either doesn't work or has been changed. Willcox "quiet" sidepipes are new with aftermarket covers. Wheels are Corvette America bolt-on knock-offs with B.F.Goodrich white-letter Radial T/A tires. Car runs on 93 octane pump premium. With the drive train having been gone through, redone engine and good paint, this car makes a superb driver. It is neither a show car nor a race car but isn't far from either.
