Vehicle Detail

1968 F 250 4x4 “Highboy” in really good condition. 101,000 original miles. I'M RELISTING THIS GREAT TRUCK SINCE LAST WEEKS AUCTION CAME SOOOO CLOSE TO MY RESERVE. MY STARTING BID IS WHERE THE AUCTION ENDED..............NO RESERVE AFTER OPENING BID!!!!!!!!!!!! 4 speed with a 390 V8 I’m the second owner, I bought it from my uncle in 1979. It was my daily driver for about four years then it became an occasional driver spending most of the years in a barn but driven several times a month. It has never been used hard or thrashed, always well maintained. My uncle bought the truck in Oregon and then a year later moved to Arizona. For the last 35 years it has been in New Mexico, there is no rust just some dust. The paint is 20 years old and could use a repaint. It buffs up well and still looks great from 20 feet! Engine and under carriage is clean, not caked with mud and grease. In 2010 I emptied the cab interior and covered everything with Dynamat including inside the doors. At the same time I replaced all window felts and door rubbers. The cab is quiet and rattle free. Over the years I did a few things to the truck...right after I bought it I replaced the 360 V8 with a 390 FE V8 that came out of a 1969 Mach 1 I had just wreaked. This motor was rebuilt 8 years ago and has only 8300 miles on the rebuild. At this time I added an Edelbrock intake and carb., Ford GT exhaust manifolds running into dual exhaust. It sounds great! Last year I put on the ram air induction set up. I live on a long dirt road and this provides cleaner air. 4 years ago I added power steering from Power Steering Pros, not some unit out of a junk yard. This alone cost $2,300. The truck drives smooth and straight with no waivers or vibrations. It loves a highway speed of 63-67 MPH and will get 14 MPG in that range. Radio is a Retrosound, looks like a factory original but wired for MP3 and satelite. I just sprayed a bedliner in last month. In 2010 I drove this truck on Hotrod Magazines POWERTOUR. I drove from southern New Mexico to Iowa where POWERTOUR started then power toured to Mobile, Alabama. From there I drove to Bangor, Maine and then back home to New Mexico. Just under 6000 miles in 28 days. I never had any kind of problem the entire trip, turning heads all the way. Other stuff it has... Pointless ignition New Speakers New 3 point seat belts Warn hubs 6k miles old New Headlights New Belts and hoses Tires are 85% Shocks have less than 6K miles on them Brakes pads have less than 6K miles on them All cases flushed less than 6K miles ago All gauges work Custom headache rack West coast mirrors This truck is totally reliable! I would let my wife drive it anywhere any distance. What’s not right... Could use paint but is a really good looking survivor. Drivers vent window latch is bent a little so it does whistle at about 50-55 MPH. Dash is cracked Steering wheel is cracked Windshield has a small chip and crack. Exhaust manifold on passenger side leaks just a little. New gasket included in sale. Toolbox goes with it but there is no spare tire or wheel.
