I'm selling this very good example of a 1957 Ford skyliner 500 retractable hardtop car for a very dear friend of mine that has owned the car for 8 years or so. The car is in great shape and runs and drives excellent. I myself would drive the car anywhere and any number of miles. It's very roadworthy it starts and drives and stops excellently. as far as i know and can tell the car is at least 99 percent factory original with the Thunderbird version of the y-block 312 engine and the 2 speed ford transmission. the engine starts right up and has ho knocks or smoke and the transmission shifts smooth and works excellent. The car is red and white outside that has had a repaint some years ago with red and white matching interior. the interior is really good with only 1 small quarter sized blemish on the front passenger side of the seat. All the gauges work as well as the speedometer and the mileage showing is 26152 and i wouldnt be surprised if that was the original mileage but theres really no way to know for sure. the exterior of the car has very good paint with no rust coming thru that i've saw and no major scratches showing.The tires are good and have the white walls and it also has the continental kit in back. the frame is excellent as well as all the floor pans and trunk and the bonus is that the retractable top works very smoothly and never fails. The only thing that doesnt work is the wipers. they have new blqades and arms on the car and the transmissiln for the wipers seems to be all there but the wiper motor is missing. It had the old style vacuum operated wipers that were notorious for failing but there are now retro fitted electric wiper motor kits available (for under 250.00) that makes them very dependable again. All in all on a scale of 1-10 the car is an easy 8 and will give many miles of driving pleasure to the one who owns it.
