Vehicle Detail

This original Dodge camper is super rare and has the very desirable Sportsman trim level , 318 V8 engine, and 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission, and the Travel Equipment Corporation (TEC) pop-top camper package. The package, which was sold through Dodge dealers allows a 6 foot person to stand inside the van. Inside the camper are seats that can be configured for sitting or with the table removed as a bed. There are also a small sink, plus the laminate cabinetry, and a canvas bunk! The sink is not currently operable, as there is no tank for fresh water or the drain. Efficient use of space in the compact and maneuverable Dodge drives more like a large car than a truck. Groovy van that sends you on a trip to the 60's. Chicks dig it. Tye Dye shirt not included. A fun vehicle that is a hit at cruise night with the longhorns, aaoogah horn and musical horns playing several tunes. The red diamond pleated crushed velvet interior, with shag carpeting, is a throwback to the custom van craze of the late 60's and early 70's.All camper area seating and window coverings were custom installed, not factory materials. The previous owner mostly used this for trips to Georgetown Lake and Canyon Ferry Lake for weekend fishing trips. I believe the stated mileage to be correct based on the way the van drives, but I do not have solid documentation. The van has manual steering and brakes. All tires are believed to be in excess of 20 years old. The wheel covers are from an early seventies Oldsmobile and one is dented as seen in the pictures. The key opens the front doors and the ignition switch. The cargo doors would have originally used a separate key that I do not have. The stick shown in the ceiling photos has a notch for unlocking the back door from the drivers seat, hippie technology. Overhead console has the musical horn control and AM/FM cassette player with speakers. Please contact me if you have any questions. The van is sold in as is condition, and I have described it to the best of my ability. Bidding is a contract to purchase the van, not to inspect the van. Transport is the responsibility of the buyer, but I will be available to release the van to transporters. If you are the adventurous type and care to drive this vehicle home I can pick you up at the airport in Helena, Missoula, Belgrade, Butte or Great Falls, Montana. I drove the van to Phoenix this year without any mechanical failures. On Sep-19-14 at 10:31:50 PDT, seller added the following information: This Dodge A108 van reminds a lot of people of one in the Scooby Doo cartoons. The reserve is less than $3000 and you will be getting a great deal on a running, driving all the parts are there classic vehicle.
