Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1980 Ford F-150 with 179 miles, that's not a misprint it has 179 original miles. Vehicle still retains a certificate of origin since it has NEVER been titled or registered. Vehicle was extremely well preserved due to dry storage. The original tires have no dry-rot and all rubber has been well preserved. Vehicle was purchased new on 4/17/80 from Empire City Motors in Poughkeepsie,N.Y. for the sum of $5,327.21. It still has the dealer temporary registration affixed to the rear window. Vehicle is equipped with a 302 V8, 2 barrel carburetor, three speed manual on the column, gauge package, optional ratio axle, cooling package, stabilizer bar front and rear, rear chrome bumper, tinted glass and 5 P235/75R15 XL tires. It has manual steering and brakes, no radio. This is the way the truck was ordered by the original owner. The body is in perfect original condition with the exception of a minor dent in the hood just above the letter D, possibly from someone pushing down when closing hood (see pics). That is the only imperfection in the body, there are no other dings and or dents in this truck. There is two or three VERY minor scratches in the paint. The original paint retains its luster as it did on the showroom floor!! All moldings and chrome are in flawless condition and appear new. The interior remains NEW down to every detail!!!! The undercarriage looks as it did went it rolled off the assembly line. It truly appears NEW! It is flawless, I have never seen anything like this, see pics they speak for themselves. The original brake and fuel lines still have the factory paper part number tags. The engine compartment has not been detailed it is original!! I have only driven vehicle around the parking lot as I don't want to add any miles to this true time capsule. It ran and drove flawlessly but again I didn't take it out on the road so I'm not sure about the condition of the wheel cylinders and calipers, they seemed fine but then again they are also original, but I'm sure anyone that would purchase this truck wouldn't be looking to add any additional miles to the odometer. This truck is truly amazing in everyway and this is most likely the finest original 1980 F-150 to exist!! This is as new as they come. Vehicle still retains all original dealership sales papers including; window sticker, warranty card, sales receipt, salesman's business card, registration temp card, owners manual, sales books, truck even retains a hand written letter and a check from the original owner to the dealer since he ordered the truck by mail instead of going to the dealership in person. This is an amazing truck that speaks for itself. Vehicle is being sold with a transferrable certificate of origin so purchaser would be the first titled owner. I am a New York State used car dealer so if vehicle is sold to a New York resident sales tax would need to be collected at time of sale.
