For sale is a 1972 Honda CB450k5 that I am listing for my father. He bought it from the original owner who lived 4 blocks from us. A second owner bike with only 8900 miles and a clean Iowa title. A real beauty. The bike has been gone through completely, checking and/or replacing whatever it needed. The engine has great compression, valves have been set, as well as the timing. The engine starts very easily with either the electric or kick starter, and runs great. The chrome looks almost brand new, paint looks great.Some of the parts that have been replaced; new points, condensor, coils, wires. New petcock and fuel lines. New tires and tubes, Uni air filters, battery and updated main fuse. The carbs have been thoroughly cleaned, polished and rebuilt with new seal kits, cam and engine covers polished to a nice period correct finish. The forks have been polished, rebuilt with new fluid, seals and gaitors. Wheel hubs polished. Brakes cleaned, inspected, new pads, lines, fluid and seals. Original gauges look great.The chrome looks great everywhere, but especially the exhaust and mirrors. New speedo, clutch, tach cables. Everything works as it should; electrical, fuel delivery, engine and transmission. The engine pulls really strong, and the transmission is very smooth. This bike runs as well as it looks, and I must say, it looks really good.These engines were a marvel when introduced, with the desmo valvetrain, double overhead cams and power to be had. These 450's still dominate on the vintage racing scene, and probably will for some time yet.I would not be afraid to ride this bike anywhere. Or maybe I would just drain the fuel system and put it in a showroom somewhere. Either way it will bring a smile to a lucky new owners face.There is a reserve set on this bike that I believe is very reasonable for the condition.Thank you for looking and happy bidding to you.
