Vehicle Detail

This was a true barn find when I bought it about 5 years ago. It hadn’t run since 1959, but was complete. I hauled the car to a large and well-equipped local Medford shop with a stellar reputation. The car had rust in the normal places so the body was removed and sandblasted along with the frame. New steel was added to repair any rust. All repairs were done by the owner who is a true craftsman and builds his own cars out of aluminum! He is a great guy and you can call him if need be. I was not in a hurry, so the process took about 2 years. The car is fast (for a flathead) and a lot of fun to drive. I’m guessing it was probably raced back in the 50s. Please first reply with email and we can talk later if you get serious. I have all receipts and a full pictorial account. Some details: · New dual exhaust with Smithys mufflers and headers from Red’s Headers · 24 stud aluminum head flathead from 1959 with new 50 lb. oil pump · Bob Drake fuel tank and sender adapter plate with new lines and pump. I never did buy a new fuel sender. · Mechanical brakes replaced with new hydraulic lines, master and wheel cylinders. Drums and shoes were fine. · New glass from MACS. They had mis-cut the rear window by about an inch on top. However, I didn’t know this for about a year, so I learned to live with it. I don’t allow water on the car and I leave the rear window open anyway, so there you have it. All the other glass was nicely done. · Woodgrained dash and complete window garnish. · radio head needs face glass and the radio was missing when I bought the car. · Paul Bradley OEM floor and trunk pan. · New Steve McPherson subrails · Radiator flushed and rodded by Seattle Radiator Works. · New Dennis Carpenter water pumps · Complete LeBaron Bonney interior · New king pins and 37 steering box · Tube shocks and adapters from Pete and Jakes · New Vintique dash wiring harness · New top insert · The throwout bearing used to grumble a lot, but less the more the car is driven. I do have a new one (plus pilot bearing), but haven’t bothered to replace them. Don’t let the photos fool you…the tires are really bad. I think they are from 1959 as a couple are the gas station variety (US Royal and Mobil). However, they do hold air and I drive the car around the neighborhood. I can store the car for a short time if necessary. I have all receipts and a full pictorial account.
