RESTORED 1974 MGB CHROME BUMPER WITH OVERDRIVE TRANSMISSION Up for auction is a very nice Performance built 1974 MGB with Overdrive. I did a nut and bolt restoration 10 years ago, everything was replaced, rebuilt or redone. I am a mechanic by trade and did all the work myself. I have broken down all the systems below with specific details and if you have questions please ask. The mileage is 116324 but is not accurate because the odometer does not work. At the time of restoration I didn’t know the odometer was broken so I reinstalled it. The speedometer works just fine but the odometer doesn’t. I bought a used replacement but never got around to putting it in (comes with the car). I did this car some time ago and it has picked up a few dings and chips so please study the photos. Please use link at bottom for more pictures and some from the time of the restoration. This MGB is modified to my liking, anything I have done can be undone if it doesn't fit your style. No permanent modifications were done. The car handles like a slot car has lots of power. The overdrive makes freeway driving a breeze. This car is a ZERO rust car. Never driven in the rain and always stored in a climate controlled garage. This is not your average 80 Horse Power MGB from the mid 70's, estimated Horse Power is 120+ please see engine details below. ALL OF THE PHOTOS TAKEN OUTSIDE WERE ON 8/25/2014 AND SHOW PRESENT CONDITION.ENGINE:Engine bored 20 over with high compression Hepolite pistons hung on PAUTER Chrome Moly X beam connecting rods. 10/10 Ballanced crankshaft. ISKY high lift camshaft and chrome Moly push rods, KENT lifters. HARLAND SHARP 1.5 roller rockers. Big Valve PMI Aluminum cylinder head. FIDANZA Aluminum flywheel. Oil pan fitted with a crank scraper. 123 electronic distributer. TWM Intake manifold with a balance pipe, WEBER DGES 38/38 carburetor, DUPLEX Vernier adjustable cam gear set. ARP head studs, ARP Main bolts. New 13 row oil cooler and hoses. Twin cooling fans on thermostat control. New radiator, ceramic coated header with heat wrap, hand built 2" exhaust system with a Hushpower muffler. The engine has a lopey idle and you definitely feel the camshaft Estimated HP 120+ ENGINE PHOTOS ALSO TAKEN 8/25/2014TRANSMISSION:Fully rebuilt LH type overdrive transmission with new clutch drum and oil solenoid.SUSPENSION: Front axle beam completely rebuilt with new everything and assembled with poly bushings. Negative camber control arms. Springs have been replaced with coil over springs and adjusters so ride height is adjustable. GAZ tube shock conversion. 7/8" front sway bar, Cross drilled rotors and stainless steel brake lines. REAR axle completely rebuilt inside and out. New bearings and seals, all brake parts replaced with new. Rear axle fitted with a 3/4" sway bar and lowering blocks, KYB Tube shock conversion on the rear also.INTERIOR:All new door, kick and rear panels. New vinyl rocker covers and carpet. Dash was fitted with a cap and roll bar cover is new, Mountney steering wheel. The top is new with a zip out rear window and has never been used. The top was converted to the early style stow away and fits in the trunk. The seats are CORBEAU and have 4 point seat belts. BODY & CHASSIS:ZERO RUST CAR. At the time of the restoration the car was rust free and remains that way. No signs of rust anywhere. BMW metalic green two stage base coat clear coat paint. The body is very nice but not perfect All new side moldings, door and trunk locks. Rear deck spoiler and front air dam. All new steel brake and fuel lines with stainless steel hoses at the wheels. Headlights were converted to Halogens. Carpet kit in trunk with spare tire cover (no spare tire) Underside was sprayed with under coating. All body seals replaced.
