Vehicle Detail

Ok gang, this is as good as it gets. Meticulous, extremely detailed cosmetic restoration of a low mileage, unmolested bike. When I started the work, the only nuts that ever had a wrench on them before were the rear axle nut and chain adjusters. Nothing else on the bike had ever been touched. With extremely careful documentation and dissassembly, all hardware was replated to its correct finish (many of the nuts and bolts on these bikes were gold, not silver), and items repainted only if necessary. The original paint was saved on the hubs, triple clamps, cylinder and head. The pipe and lower frame rails are perfect--not one gouge or ding, and the seat, fork boots, tires, front number plate, and possibly even the grips are all original. The rear tire is less than half worn, which gives an indication of the low hours on the bike. I scrubbed the tires in the bathtub until they look like new again. My wife wasn't wild about it, but in my mind no "restoration" is correct without the proper tires that came on the bike in the crate. Many hours were spent at the polishing shop to get the correct sheen on the lower fork legs. I could go on and on, but let me just give one example that should indicate the quality of the entire bike: where the wire from the original kill switch hooks up under the gas tank, I even took a picture of how the factory clamp was set and put it back exactly the same. The bike was checked out and ridden about 20 miles before the restoration, and it starts, runs and shifts perfectly. However, no fluids have been replaced and it has not been started again since completion about 4 years ago. There are plenty of used and abused Elsinores out there if you want one to ride. This one should be the centerpiece of a collection and a historical reference of "the way they were" during the era of the beginning of long travel, but still with air cooling and drum brakes. I seldom sell any bikes that I have restored, but an upcoming move and three kids in college have made this one available. There is no title and it will be sold with a Bill of Sale, as I bought it in Tennessee and they did not title dirt bikes back then. This Elsinore comes with a 100% guarantee. If you are not satisfied at the time of pick up for any reason, your money will be refunded in full, including the deposit. That said, once the bike leaves my premises there is no warranty of any kind on this 35 year old vehicle. I can be reached at (928)600-4871 for any further questions about the bike.
