This bike has been stored indoors.Amazing but yes this is a 1989 year model and the paint is original! You can't beat legendary time proven Honda quality and reliability. I have seen these bikes running like a watch with over a quarter of a million miles on them. At 28,672 this one is barely broke in. I will pick you up at the Palm Springs airport free of charge and you can ride it home cross country. I don't think you will find a nicer Honda GL15000 anywhere. The original owner was in his late 70's and just was not riding it any more. The 1st time I revived the bike from storage for him was January-20-2012. The odometer at that time read: 28,605 and he paid us $1231.18 Almost exactly 2 years later on January -7- 2014 the odometer read 28,619 and we picked it up again and revived it from storage and he paid us $1209.23. He had only rode it for 14 miles in 2 years. This was his pattern as he was only here a few months out of the year. He is a snowbird with a summer home in Minnesota. Motorcycle storage revival is my specialty and we have been doing it full time for over 33 years in this same location. Since the last revival we have had the bike here on a smart battery charger and have been starting it once per week. Often with original owners they don't know how to let go of a bike after ten or twenty years. I can relate. In the end we all let go of everything! Below is a brief description of what we did on January 7- 2014 1. Changed the gas in the tank and inspected the inside with a flash light. The inside of the tank is spotless! 2. Rebuilt the carburetors, installed all new carburetor gaskets, fuel filter, fuel hose and manifold o-rings. 3. Replaced the battery and tested the charging system. 4. Adjusted tire pressure and change all fluids including flush and bleed of the hydrolic brakes and clutch. 5. Inspected all electrical functions, lights, sound system, air pump and switches. 6. Washed and polished and removed the sheep skin covers. Test rode for 53 miles and now start it daily to ride in and out for display here in front of my shop. This bike has no leaks of any kind. The engine sounds real nice with no ticking or rattles of any sort. The bike shifts smooth and rides like a dream. This bike needs nothing except to be ridden and admired. I stake my positive reputation on your satisfaction. The sheep skin seat covers shown in the pictures were brittle so we took them off and disposed of them. They did a nice job protecting the original seat covers underneath which are in very nice shape.Please look close at all the pictures on my Facebook page and you will know that thisis indeed a rare find in this amazing condition. ..
