For auction is a vintage 1979 Honda XR500 motorcycle. This bike is a nice original first-year example and the mileage is correct. The bike was ridden by a wife with her husband. The bike runs and sounds great with no smoke or noticeable top end noise, all lights work, and the paint is in nice shape for it's age. The original seat has no tears, speedometer works, bars are straight and the tank inside is very clean with only a few small dings. Kill switch works, new air filter, chain and sprocket look good, and plastic is in decent shape with some scrapes, but no cracks. I just rode the bike for around thirty miles last week with no issues. I have a clear California title and the bike is green stickered through June, 2015. I believe in honest descriptions so I'd like to point out some minor issues with the bike. It has the original front tire which is cracking and should be replaced. Both rims have a few very small cracks. The forks and shocks dampen, but may have slow leaks. The tool pouch is torn by the zipper. Overall, a nice functional and standout bike for being 35 years old. The parts are worth more than I'm asking for this bike. I've included a lot of pictures. A $200 deposit is required within 48 hours after auction via Paypal.On Aug-06-14 at 17:03:16 PDT, seller added the following information: Checked out the rims again, the cracks are not from dents and are in a circular direction on the rim outer edge - not propogating towards the rim center. I don't think that the rims would need replacing (or pose any likely failure) other than for asthetics.
