Vehicle Detail
Hello all, Up for auction is an extremely high optioned 1979 Pontiac Firebird with the ultra rare numbers matching L78 400ci pontiac engine and 4 speed transmission. In 1979, this pontiac left the dealership with a hefty price tag of of 9,000 dollars, this is because the car left the showroom floor with Air conditioning, Delco GM am-fm radio and tape player, the famous bird hood decal, power door locks, power windows, tilt steering wheel, soft ray glass, custom velour interior trim group, and the "special performance package" which include the aluminum honeycomb wheels, steel belt radials, power brake package (including rear disc brakes), and heavy duty suspension handling package. These desirable options added up to $2,200 above sticker price.Originally, this car was painted code 62B heritage brown, and camel tan velour interior and trim appointments, but looks to have been repainted to a maroon color at some point in its life.I would like to stress to everyone just how solid this car is. All of the typical rust spots including the trunk lip and seal area, lower quarter panels, door bottoms, all floor pans, and even the rear fuel tank divider are all rust free as you can see in the pictures, and the only surface rust I have found is under the front fender vents where it looks like the paint peeled, leaving a bare spot. The car does run, and move under its own power. I just recently had the carburetor completely redone inside and out to stock specifications and finish, and installed a new battery. Included with the car is the original fuel tank build sheet, a PHS reproduction window sticker, and a full packet of Pontiac Historical Society paperwork. In its current condition this car is the prime candidate for either a full frame off nut and bolt restoration, or it is nice enough just to do a simple "fix as needed" driver, based on what you want out of the car. This auction is reserve free, if you bid you will win. If sold in Florida or southern georgia, I can deliver the car for a small fee, anything farther than that shipping is your responsibility. Please feel free to contact me with any question you may have about the car, or any other pictures you may want, Thank you for your time.
