Vehicle Detail
Here we have a 1957 Chevrolet 4 door " Hardtop" . If you are new to these cars , then this is the 4 door model with no divider posts . Unlike the 4 door sedans , when you roll all the windows down in this hardtop model , it is completely open through the car from the windshield to the back glass . This car is an older amateur restoration . The paint is decent , not show quality and it shows some chips and scratches . The engine is a Small Block chevy with a 2 barrel carb and a th350 automatic transmission . Tires are in good shape and the steel brake lines have been replaced along with the old single pot master cylinder has been switched to a dual pot. The car also has newer dual exhaust as well that runs clear to the back bumper. All lights and signals work , fuel gauge works , temp gauge is finicky. I have not gotten the radio or the horn to work. Also has electric wipers that are now operated with a small switch under the dash as well as the heater " which will run you out of the car on a cool day" The underside of the car shows you floor pans that are in good shape and do not need replaced , maybe some por15 one of these days to preserve them . There are some outer brace ends that will need some attention including the driver side center post brace. The Chrome on the car is original and shows its age , but again , works great on this car because it is a driver. Trunk pan has a rusted through area " Crack " that could use some attention , tail pan looks good and shock mounts look excellent. This is a car that your not scared to drive in the rain to the store for fear of water spots. Drive it , do burn outs and cruise to your favorite hangout and still look better doing it that anyone else on your block ha ha ha. The interior could use some work . The seats are missing the seat shells " 4 door shells are easy to find where and plentiful". the door panels were covered with some crappy black naugahide at one time , a few pieces of the trim are blue and some are the same color as the car. Headliner is in nice shape , carpet is wore. Needs kick panels and the small filler panels at the edges of the rear seat. The Body has had some work done to it in the past . The dog legs were poorly replaced at one time . They work , and 95% of people will never realize it . But a car guy can glance at them from 10 feet away and tell they have been reworked . I have found some bondo in the door bottoms and a few other small areas . The fender skirts fit nicely , the windshield looks to be new as well as the seal , all of the windows roll up and down perfectly and are in good shape as well as the back glass. One of the first parts i would buy for this car which it drastically needs is new weather stripping for the outside of the windows , the old stuff is non existant. All in all , its a 57 Chevy that the average person can afford and go have fun in and fix it up allong the way , there is no reason to strip this car to the frame , blow it apart into a million pieces and then sell it in 5 years because you lost interest """"" Been There , Done That"""" I have no problem wih international bidders . It will ship on your dime . Please , if you are over seas you must contact me before bidding .
