Vehicle Detail

1964 Porsche 356 SC Cabriolet - 1 Owner My dad served in the USAF in Ramstein, Germany. He bought his first Porsche 356, a super 90 in 1963. One day while traveling along the countryside in Germany a car pulled out in front of him causing a T-bone crash. My father's super 90 was totaled and he was forced to buy another Porsche. At that point the SC Cabriolet had just been offered and he really wanted one because of the refinements, more powerful motor and 12 volt system. In 1964 the SC's on a auto lot in Ramstein, Germany were sold before they were delivered to the dealership. My dad patiently waited to find one without any luck. Until one day, he got a call from the local Porsche dealer owner offering to sell him his own dealer demo. My dad jumped on it and purchased this cabriolet July 6th, 1965 (49 years ago). Over the years we have received notes on the windshield asking if we would sell the car, but never were interested until now. For the very first time this car is for sale and will be sold to the highest bidder!!! The car runs, drives and can be driven in its current state although I would highly recommend taking the plunge and restoring this piece of history. This is a highly sought after classic Porsche due to the limited production (1964/5) and being a 1 owner SC cabriolet. These 356 Cabriolets are increasing in value yearly and restored to factory form they currently are selling for $225-250k+. The original color is Irish Green but was painted Ruby Red in the 80s when my dad wanted a color change Matching Engine and Transmission #'s Engine #: 820112Transmission #: 70760 (741/0)The Motor/Transmission and drivetrain were all been rebuilt in the early 2000's and have been driven a limited amount since. Runs and drives and clutch is very responsive and the transmission shifts fine. InteriorBlack interior - front seats need recovering and rears look good just need a solid cleaningWindshield wipers work, blinkers, tachometer, speedometer, odometer, horn, radio all work. There is a vertical crack in the windshield glass.Carpet is dirty, rough and will need replacementInterior door panels are in good shape, the windows roll up and down easily.Locks lock from inside and outside. Body and RustBody is in ok shape, the front end has had some work on it and the last body man welded a couple plates on it so you could pull out the front end and straighten it. There are dents and rust. The rust is on both driver/passenger lower front fender, drivers front floor pan, drivers b pillar, some misc areas on the floors, front clip by front head light buckets/markets and I'm sure other areas I can not see. The underbody has some dents, damage and rust - view photos. Truly this 356 is the perfect candidate for a rotisserie restoration... TopConvertible - needs replacement but the actual frame appears to be in good condition and locks against windshield frame tightHardtop is included with new rear glass window but neither side windows. MiscAdditional parts are included (view photos to see extra parts that are pictured) PaperworkI have every record that this car has ever had. Everything is in chronological order and it was serviced and maintained by some of the greatest shops in the country. Also included is the Original black and white Colorado Title from 1965 and a Colorado Bill of Sale (original owner - can have the bill notarized if necessary by my father). I am also including an original 356 shop manual, Porsche 356 owners manual and miscellaneous Oversteer and Porsche Registry books/literature... Front ClipThe only reason the front clip headlamps, bumper and misc parts have been removed is because my dad almost had a complete restoration started in 2003 but parked it instead in a heated garage due to a passing in the family. It has sat in this heated facility for the last 9 years until 3 months ago I pulled it out and took it to car quip simple auto to have the carbs rebuilt, drain the fluids and get it running again. It is running fine but needs to be driven to clean out the engine from sitting for so long. It starts right up and runs fine without smoke. Each week since I got it back from the shop I have been starting it and let it running for 10 minutes. I have not driven it around much due to expired tags. Extras:Hardtop and new rear glass for hardtop (we don't have the side windows but looks like we do have the side window moldings) This 356 would be a great candidate for a full restoration, addition to your collection or store it and let it continue to appreciate in value. Overall:This is a beautiful Porsche 356SC Cabriolet classic. It would make the perfect weekend warrior, beach cruiser and/or addition to your classic car museum. The Porsche is used, needs a restoration and is 50 years old. It is hard to capture all the blemishes and areas that need attention but it is a perfect full restoration candidate. I am not a Porsche specialist so I may have missed something so be sure to ask all questions you have prior to bidding or winning the 356. The car is being sold as is, where is, without warranty or guarantees. I am not required for your state emission or safety inspections including Colorado. Shipping:If you are out of state and need to have this Porsche shipped, call Michael @ M&E Auto Transport #606-354-3643. Michael is great to work with and offers competitive pricing, quick pickup and delivery. He helped me ship a few vehicles back to Colorado from other areas in the country. Conclusion:A $2000 non refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of the conclusion of the auction via paypal. All sales are final. The final payment must be received within 7 days of auction end time. Payment options include cash upon pickup, Electronic Bank Transfer or Wire Transfer. I have sold multiple cars on ebay and can provide references if necessary. I reserve the right to remove the auction at anytime as this car is listed for sale locally as well. If you have any questions or would like to know anything more or make an offer feel free to calling or texting. #303-956-7445
