Vehicle Detail

1969 Chevrolet C-20 (eBay has no way to list a C/20, only C/10) LongBed Fleetside 2wd with 111,400 original miles. This truck is a two-owner truck and has been in my same family since 1989. Was originally a Southern California truck its whole life, up until 1997 when I got it from the second owner, my cousin. Comes with a clean IN. title, but I only put 5,290 miles on it in Indiana, been sitting next to the barn for 16 years since we quit driving it. This truck has beautiful all natural patina from a brown mid ‘70s paint job (the original color was Frost Green) and has not been spotted or repaired or wrecked ~ no bondo. Has its original #s matching 350ci V8 engine w/4 bolt main, backed by its #s matching 3 on the tree manual tranny. Was gonna take the bed off, shorten the frame and convert over to C/10 suspension and put a shortbed on it, but I decided to concentrate on my ‘55 Chevy second series 3100 stepside instead. This truck needs a little finish work to be an awesome rat rod, hot rod, street rod, shop truck or a show truck, but I have no time for it. The truck was running until the battery and the points were taken out in ‘98, that's all that's missing mechanically on the truck. The 3 speed shifted very well. The body is very nice and straight and has great patina and a couple of dents and dings. There’s no rust to speak of outside on the cab, the roof, around the windows, on the doors or hood. The bed has some surface rust on the floor (no holes) and some surface rust where it used to have a camper shell on it. There’s a crease on the passenger side of the bed in the back behind the wheel well, as well as a dent. The tailgate does have a nice sized crease from the top to the bottom where my cousin backed into a light pole and it still opens and shuts. The windshield is not cracked but does have some fog toward the bottom. The dash is nice and still has the original Frost Green paint, as does the rest of the interior (except the metal door panels which are brown). The driver side outer rocker panel has rust-through and needs replaced but they are only around $29.95 through YearOne. The passenger side outer rocker panel has rust, but may be able to be fixed. The passenger side floor board near the outside has a couple quarter -sized holes, but nothing that warrants replacement and is easily fixed. The driver side floor board near the door also has a small amount of surface rust, but its minor and can also be easily fixed. The rest of the floor board is super solid (you can see it in the pics right through the bottom of the seat). The only rust besides the rocker panels on the body is a small rust hole starting on the bottom rear of the passenger side fender. The rest of the truck seems to be very nice and solid, the hood, doors, fenders, frame, bed and bed sides are all very nice and it has a Class 3 hitch on the back. The side frame rail still has a large # stamped on it from the factory (see pics). The hood and drivers door open and shut well, the passenger door opens from the inside (the push button on the outside handle is broke) and shuts well. I have an extra nice grey velour bench seat for it out of a full sized 1991 van that will go with the truck (not installed), we did install one just like it in my ‘55 Chevy and it looks real good. The original plastic timing chain has been replaced with a metal one a while back and the heads on it are replacement, but I have the original heads to go with the truck, the original California smog pump was removed, but also goes with the truck. I do not have the original 4 BBL Rochester Quadra jet carb, but it has a Carter AFB Competition Series carb installed. It needs just a couple of items to run, it’s close, but we quit driving it when it became difficult to keep it running. I think the issue is something simple and stupid we haven’t thought of that kept it from running continuously, there was no engine knock or anything like that, we just had other projects we wanted to deal with. This truck has a clean Indiana title in my name and is being sold as-is where-is with no warranty. Will need to be trailered to remove from here. Located in N/E Indiana outside of Marion (25 miles West of Ohio border). $250 non-refundable PayPal deposit required within 24 hours of end of auction ~ rest of money must be brought to me within 1 week of end of auction.
