Vehicle Detail

RELISTED!! (last bidder backed out right after winning the auction due to family problems) This auction is for a 1962 Willys Jeep CJ6. This jeep is the very rare CJ6 model which is a stretched version of the CJ5. VIN # is 57748 22131. I bought this jeep a few months back as a restoration candidate, but unfortunately I have too many other projects (1 other jeep, 1 Porsche) that need attention and I simply do not have room for all of them. I bought the jeep because it runs and has a solid frame. The mechanical fuel pump has been replaced (a Facet electric pump was previously used and is still loosely secured in the engine bay) and I began replacing the fuel lines which were leaking in order to be able to run the jeep more often, but the lines are not currently connected. A battery and some work on the fuel lines and the jeep should start right up. This jeep is all original which is why it would be perfect for a restoration. The original drivetrain is still with the jeep (both axles, manual transmission, 4 cylinder engine). Even the original Ross type steering is still there, as well as all original gauges (with 04429 miles), rear view mirror, and data plates. Gas tank is included which I believe to be original. If you look under the jeep, the frame needs some clean up and painting but it looks like it does not have any holes nor does it need patching anywhere. It is very solid underneath. The jeep does need a new body tub which can be purchased from various sources (4wd Hardware, Quadratec, or an aluminum version from Aqualu that will never rust again). The original one has multiple patches and I think it is not worth saving. With a new body tub and some general restoration work, this jeep would be easily worth $10-15k given its originality. Given the paint showing behind the headlight rings and the year of the jeep, the jeep was most likely painted President Red originally. Note that the jeep does come with a matching set of 4 newer Jeep CJ wheels with caps plus the non-matching 5th steel wheel (installed on the rear left side in the pictures). I also have a bunch of restoration parts that I am willing to sell with the jeep for an additional $250: ignition tune up kit (points, condenser, spark plugs), outside rear view mirror, front turn signals, rear brake lights, front headlights, 2x hood catches, 2x original vacuum pump wiper motors, and fuel pump to be used with vacuum wipers. I also have an excellent set of black vinyl front seats complete with frames for an additional $200, which is a rare find in the condition they are in. The jeep must be picked up in Water Mill, NY (zip code 11976), or shipping arranged at the buyer's expense. The jeep is sold as is, with no warranty expressed or implied. Please send me a message if you need more information. Bid now with NO RESERVE!! Sold with bill of sale only (no titles for vehicles more than 25 years old in NY state). Jeep comes with everything seen in the pictures, plus the matching wheel described above and the original "Jeep" ignition key.
