ORIGNAL PAINT ORIGINAL EVERYTHING!! This is an amazing truck with a story to tell. I purchased it from a friend and it has been in his family since it was brand new!! Purchased new in 1969 by his grandfather from a local Birmingham AL dealer. My Friends grandfather kept the truck until his death and then it was passed on to my friends father and then finally to him about six years ago. It has been garage kept and it runs and drives well. The truck has no accidents and it is 100% original. The only non original part is the battery and the radiator. Thats right the engine is 100% original and it runs and starts on the first turn of the key every time. You can see in one of the pictures the truck on Crista Circle. This street is in my neighborhood and the address where the truck lived since 1968. The truck has some small dings and dents one on the front drivers fender where my friend backed into a small pole backing out of his driveway. I do not believe any of these dents could not be removed by a good body man, so I dont think you would need any replacement panels to do a repaint. The truck has surface rust but the only real rust areas are the bottoms of the doors each has two small holes but this is common for these trucks. Any other rust you see is surface rust. The wheelwells, fenders, floorboards are all totally solid with no holes at all. The bed of the truck we think originally had wood in the bed and it is long gone. My friends grandad laid a plate of steel in the bed to cover it up. The interior of this truck is amazingly clean. The seats are comfortable and need to be recovered obviously. The seat is originally the green color of the door panels. The rubber flooring is in great shape only worn where your foot sits on the accelerator. The dash is completely original and looks brand new. Its amazing condition. I dont think you would need to do anything to this interior except recover the seats and clean up the door panels. The headliner is gone but I think if it was mine I would just paint the truck and leave the headliner off and have it just be the color of the truck. The doors all work passenger side window needs to be adjusted it is off the track. heater blows super hot. Radio still works. Speedo tachometer and all gauges still work. This truck has 99,000 ORIGINAL MILES. Its amazing. Can be driven as is, or would be a great platform for a restoration since all the pieces are there. The brakes are pretty weak not sure if they need to be bled but if you wanted to drive this daily you would probably either replace them with a disc conversion kit or completely overhaul them anyways. Headlights work. Has original owners manual, original paperwork for the sale from the dealer in 1969 and the original card with the serial number of the truck. Truck does not have a title as Alabama did not require them until 1972. Please contact me with any questions. This is a alabama born and bred truck, so the frame etc has no rust issues. If you are looking for a restoration project all the pieces are here already and it still runs and drives. According to some internet research, there were around 33,000 d100 trucks with short wheelbase produced in 1968. Only 11,000 of them were stepside most were the flareside so this is the rare truck with the look collectors want. Its awesome. Please buy this truck before I decide to keep it!!!!!
