Complete with Weather Equipment, Owner's Manual & Driving Accessories Morris Garages announced its new Twin Cam Roadster in the spring of 1958 and began selling them over the summer. With much more power of the pushrod engine, the new double overhead cam, four-cylinder powerplant with its twin SU carburetors produced an impressive output. Additionally, the Twin Cams were equipped with four-wheel disc brakes (protected by knock-off disc wheels) and were capable of 115 miles per hour. With a limited production run, over the years they have become highly sought after by enthusiasts. The 1959 MGA Twin Cam Roadster offered here in Old English White over Red and Grey cabin upholstery, Black convertible top, side curtains and proper vented Dunlop steel wheels with knock offs. This Home Market RHD model based on an early 1500 body unit was subjected to a major frame-off restoration some years ago in the United Kingdom some time before its export by an American collector during the mid-2000's.The gentleman acquired the MG while working overseas and had the Twin-Cam shipped to the States, where it became a jewel in his impressive British automobile and motorcycle collection throughout the following years. Equipped with leather competition seating, heater/defroster, leather wrapped dash panel and grey carpets; sliding side curtains with respective stow away pouch, full tonneau cover and Dunlop spare accompany. The cabin's upholstery is quite nice as is the lacquer paintwork, displaying a few noted cosmetic blemishes. The undercarriage is nicely detailed along with the tidy engine bay and luggage compartment. UK registration plates and MOT sticker remain with the Roadster. This Twin Cam runs very well in both city and highway travelling. Ready to tour right out of the box, a recent complete mechanical tune-up was commissioned addressing the carburetors, fluids, filters and plugs, slave cylinder with lines, clutch, refresh and rebuild (Whitepost Restorations) of all 4 original calipers with new pads. The car's performance is outstanding with a fierce rumble from the stainless exhaust. Factory produced in very limited numbers for the serious racing devotee, this Roadster would make an outstanding candidate to take on any vintage challenging driving event!
