This is a nice 1978 Volkswagon Champagne Edition II Beetle Convertible. with a 97 c.i. (1.6 L) fuel injected motor and 4 speed manual transmission. It appears to have been repainted once (prior to our owning it, and to factory original color) and the top has been replaced as well. Top is in like new condition, interior is good, and the body is solid. Car starts, runs, drives, shifts and stops as it should. Everything works as it should, no know problems. That being said, it is not a show car, it is an unrestored, USED 36 year old vehicle (with 57926 original miles) in very good shape for its age. The paint is discolored below the fuel filler and it has its share of minor scratches and dings, (looks good from 20 feet). Tires are all in good shape with plenty of tread and no signs of dry rot. The car has the proper paint code (ROT MET. translate to RED METALLIC),Lemmertz Sport rims (one black cap missing from one lug nut)Wood paneling on dash boardWhite (opal) top, and interiorProduction date of 02/78 My daughter purchased this in 2009, before she even had her license, with 57832 miles on it. it has been stored inside my heated garage and rarely driven (not even a 100 miles). She is now away at college and wants to sell it (I think that's a mistake ). So here it is, with a low reserve (don't ask!) it is well worth the price for the condition of the car, especially compared to other similar vehicles listed.
