Vehicle Detail

This is a no reserve auction , so please read the entire description before bidding! I am listing this item for a neighbor, so if there are any questions I can't answer myself, I can get the answers from him, but it will take a little extra time. Thanks in advance! Up for auction is a 1959 Corvette that I would call a survivor, although the engine has been replaced (with a 350 small block), and a color change to the exterior. I'll give you the not-so-good stuff first... It is in no way restored, or a show car. It does have it's bumps, chips, and bruises. It would (in it's current condition) be a car for cruise nights or weekend cruises, or you can restore it. This is what I know about the car. It has a mildly "warmed over" 350 small block, and from what I can see it has double hump heads, a Holley 650 double pumper (List #4777-2), and a Holley Street Dominator intake. I can't say what work has been done on the engine internally, but I can say it runs strong and peppy. The radiator has also been upgraded. The rest of the drive-line looks to be original to the car, with the Borg-Warner close ratio trans and open rear end. The body of the car has it's fiberglass issues that are common to Corvettes. Spider cracking around some corners and openings, but nothing major except on the passenger side front fender where it was bumped and the fiberglass is cracked (in pictures). The undercarriage and frame were undercoated at some time and look good. The chrome and stainless trim are all there, and in good to very good shape, with some very small pitting that you really have to look closely to see. It looks like some of the chrome has been replaced at one time as well. The paint is still shiny, but shows it's age with some chips, scratches, and touchups, and it looks to have a couple coats of paint. The interior or the car is a little run down, and looks to have been dyed black at some point. I can see some red in places on the dash and door panels. All of the gauges look good and seem to work fine (Odometer reads 45290, but that is doubtful for a 55 year old car. PA Title milage is exempt at that age). It does not have the original radio, it is an aftermarket. The hardtop is in good to excellent shape. The convertible top and frame is there and in place, and looks to be the original white top. I am no expert on Corvettes, so I may have overlooked or forgotten some things, so please ask if you have any questions! Now that I have picked apart all of the car's bad points, here is the good stuff! Out of 9670 Corvettes made that year, this is number #1869, which I think is a very low number car. The car does run very good, driving and stopping. It has been garaged since 1993, and has only been driven 1-2 times a year since then. The car looks beautiful from 10 feet away, and you would have no problems taking it out on a cruise night! It also comes with some extra parts, like a new convertible top, door glass dew wipes, aluminum door inserts, and some rubber seals and chrome. Everything in the pictures is included! Please ask any questions before bidding, and yes, you can come see the car first (I would recommend that!) Just email me your number and we can work out a day and time. I also reserve the right to end the auction early, as this car is also for sale locally.
