Vehicle Detail
Please note this car was auctioned and the buyer has backed out of the deal. In addition, another "buy it now" buyer walked upon payment. Please be sure to read the above condition report before bidding on this car. This is a beautiful car as you can see by the pictures. It is a one owner, always garaged, serviced meticulously vehicle. The top, boot, motor and such are in perfect condition. The interior is in perfect condition. The tires are very good. No rust, no damage and no accidents. Selling as is and you arrange for the pick up in Hinsdale, Illinois. Full payment via a cashiers check will be required within 24 hours......the check must clear the bank and cash in hand before the car or title will be released. A Bill Of Sale would be available upon receipt of your check. Sent to an interested bidder: Just so you understand. The Jags engine, drivers side (6 cylinders) is not functioning.....no compression. The passenger side starts and works. Pulling the head is the only way to resolve the question of what is actually wrong. To replace the engine with a used Jag engine has been quoted to me at $6000.00 however there is a much better solution. There are several manufacturers that sell kits to install a Chevy LT1 engine and transmission in this car. The kit contains everything needed and does not need ANY cutting, welding or the like. All the parts are custom made to bolt the LT1 to the existing chassis. The cost of this operation is around $5000.00. I have the names of the manufacturers. In addition, this now makes this car lighter, twice as fast and serviceable at any time at a very reasonable price. I am told, by several people familiar with the conversation, that the car will be worth around $20K to 25K when the work is completed. Reason why I will not do it.......I am 70 years old and not interested in messing with it any longer
