**All Offers Considered. New Photos Added** This is Carlos, a 1986 Land Rover Santana Series IIIA Diesel. This unique Land Rover was built in Spain by Land Rover Santana, S. A. under license from the Rover Company, Solihull, UK. A well cared-for vehicle, this Landy is in excellent condition for being 28 years old (hard to find in this condition). He spent most of his life near Salamanca, Spain according to his records and was imported to the US over the last 2 months. Santanas are a unique Land Rover..the manufacturer made many upgrades to the basic Series platform including: dashboard with glovebox, one piece front wind screen, single windshield wiper motor, front split bench seat, upgraded electrical system, and roll up windows to name a few. The Series IIIA model encompassed these changes but kept the classic looking front grill of a UK made Series Land Rover. This is a short wheelbase (88") station wagon model with left hand drive. It has a 4 speed manual transmission, 2.25l diesel engine, and full time 4 wheel drive (selectable Low to High) . It has newer paint and interior. The exterior is Bronze Green with a Cream colored safari roof and matching steel rims. Before leaving the EU the alternator was rebuilt, it had new brakes and a new exhaust installed. The spare tire is mounted inside behind driver's compartment and it has a swing away rear door providing access to the fold down jump seats. It came with 6.0 X 16" wheels but the rims will accept larger 7.5 x 16" tires as a recommendation. The US equivalent is a 235/85 16 SUV tire. The odometer shows just 38,980+ kms (24,167 mi). The Spanish registration does not list the mileage on these older vehicles, so it's not clear what the actual mileage is. If it is 138,980 kms (86,167 mi), that's still only 3,100 miles per year on average. There are a few imperfections in the paint. Body panels are in good condition and the frame and bulkhead are solid with only minor surface rust. Both driver and passenger side foot wells have been replaced with aluminum checker plate. The engine runs strong and the transmission and clutch work as expected. The engine smokes on start up, but once warm, pulls as it should all day long (this is common issue on the 60+ year old design of the Land Rover 2.25l diesel motor). The interior is in great shape and is much more comfortable than standard Landy seat cushions. Since this vehicle model was never sold in the US, the VIN is not recognized. As you can see from the data plate and chassis stamp in my pics, the VIN is VSELBAAG2AZ103574. Carlos should be fully titled and registered in the state of Delaware this week. This would have been a daily driver for me, but unforseen family changes force a reluctant sale. More pictures available upon request. Make me an offer!
