Selling my 1964 VW Deluxe Sunroof Beetle. This model is very rare being the very last year with classic smaller windows and first year for the crank back steel sunroof. So this is a one year only model. This very special car still retains the majority of its original factory applied paintwork. It is finished in the beautiful Bahama Blue shade and it has shined up beautifully!! I have spent countless hours very carefully detailing the paint to bring it back to it's beautiful luster and man does it shine! However, being a car of 50 years in age it obviously has some flaws. It is far from perfect but Very solid overall. The left front 1/4 panel and fender have been repaired and the worst of the damage is on the lower edge of the driver door. Other than that, it has held up very well. In addition to the exterior, also the interior is all original. It has all the original paint on the interior including the dash and inside door paint. The interior is even all original. the seats, door panels, headliner and mats all original. Unfortunately the carpet did not make it. The seats should really be restored along with headliner and carpet but Door panels are still very nice would be best left original. I did find an original Blue cord driver seat upper and rear seat lower and installed them to the car. Mechanically the car is a driver. I have been driving the car everyday until recently since I found my replacement car (1966 Sunroof) which is an exact match color and all to a car I regret selling a few years ago. The engine a 40hp unit appears to be the original engine (not verified) and it runs very well and super reliable. it is nicely detailed all stock and the car still maintains its original 6 volt electrical system with all electrical working (except dome light and radio). The engine does not leak much oil but every now and then a drop or two. All the brakes have just been serviced along with a pair of good used spindles and tie rods installed to the front end. So the front end and brakes are very sound. The wheels are originals and it has brand new chrome VW hubcaps installed. The sunroof opens and closes but will need 1 cable installed. I have an extra included in the extra parts box that will come with the car. it may or may not be usable. This car will be sold AS-IS. Overall this beautiful Bahama Blue Classic VW has survived the ravages of time very well in its 50 years and will continue to provide someone with many more years of miles of smiles. The scarcity of Original Paint combined with the 1yr only 64 Steel Sunroof and originality of this car will only escalate its value in the years to come.
