Up for auction is a Nocturne Blue 1979 Pontiac Firebird, L78 optioned 400ci 4 speed car, numbers matching from carburetor to rear end, with 51,000 original miles. This car was fairly high optioned with black vinyl interior trim group, limited slip differential, console, electric rear window defroster, rally gauge option with tach, soft ray glass, extra insulation, complete lamp package, sport mirrors, rare power antenna, formula steering wheel, and most importantly the WS6 "special performance package" which consisted of the aluminum wheels (which are in absolutely immaculate condition), power brakes including rear disc option, and special handling package. This car is very well documented, I have the original dealership invoice showing all original options along with a copy of it in lamination, a reproduction window sticker sourced straight from the pontiac historical society, original owners manual, dealership maintenance receipts, original warranty card, and even all original brochures from the dealership it was purchased (four flags motors in Illinois). The car does run, and move under its own power, but obviously isn't roadworthy.The intake that is currently on the engine is an aftermarket aluminum edelbrock manifold, but the original steel intake is included in the auction, along with a host of other miscellaneous parts.. All floors in the car are beautiful and rust free, as is the entire trunk area and the rear window/trunk seal area which commonly rot on these cars, the ta hood is in immaculate condition with no dings, waves or rust. The car will need a driver side quarter patch, a section of driver side rear frame rail and most likely a full passenger quarter. A small section of the bottom of the front fender is rotted, along with a spot on the door as seen in the picture.
