Vehicle Detail

For sale is a 1980 Triumph TR7 Spider. I purchased this car in 2007 for the specific purpose of restoring and showing it at Regional and National VTR events. Since 2007, it has placed first in six South Central Regionals and one VTR National event. The reason I’m parting with it is that I’m getting too old to go through the rigors of show preparation. The car is still very much in show quality condition. As mentioned, the car was restored in 2007. The paint is still in very good condition. There are a few minor imperfections but nothing that affects its overall show quality. The interior is as close to original as we could get and it is also in very good condition. There is an updated radio and speaker system. The engine compartment is extremely clean. The only deviation from totally original is an electronic ignition system, manual chokes and a Monza exhaust system. The convertible top and tires are also in very good condition. All graphics are the original 3M reflective. It has been garage kept and covered since restoration. The engine runs very smooth and has about 2200 miles on a new valve job. Currently mileage is 74,867 miles. During restoration the original speedometer was replaced with a NOS 140 mph speedometer. The 140 mph speedometer currently shows 9155 miles. The original speedometer read 65,712 miles when replaced. The gas tank was totally reworked. The interior was sound proofed. All wheel rims, including spare tire rim was powder coated. Radiator was rebuilt with a high efficiency r-fin pro cooling core and it has a new alternator. What needs attention: The current steering wheel is the original TR8 style and is showing signs of age. It probably should be replaced for future shows. It has a NOS clock that does not work. The vehicle has air conditioning but was never put into service. The vehicle has always been professionally maintained by John Gauldin of Triumph World Services, Inc, Edmond, Oklahoma. Restoration photos are available upon request.
