Vehicle Detail
I'm selling this car for my step son, he had had the car stored at my mother in laws for a number of years and she is moving so the car needs to move as well. Car is currently in Lake in the Hills Illinois being garage kept. There is no battery in the car currently so I was not able to start the car but from looking it over the body and interior look in very good condition. The stuff you see around the windows in left over chalk paint from his graduation. If car meets reserve he will get a battery so the car can be started. It has sat for some time so it would be best to trailer it to be safe. Here is the description he gave me: The car has 106,000miles on it and hasn't been driven in a year and a half or so. Stored in a garage. Nice upholstery and seats. Needs: Door panels, minor paint touch up, brake check-up, some electrical work. Engine runs strong. Black paint with two tone black/tan interior. Seats in VERY good condition. Automatic transmission shifts nicely! Needs a good exterior cleaning. For someone who is willing to put some time in to work on this pony, you'll get a great car. If you have any questions I will do my best to get them answered. On May-24-14 at 16:54:45 PDT, seller added the following information: Put a battery in the car today and it started by itself without the key in the ignition. Tried to turn the car off with the key and it would not turn off. It did however turn off when I hit the brake. The engine sounds good but their is an exhaust leak under the car. When trying to start the car with the key the starter would not engage. I talked to me step son and he said if you use the key fob lock the door then unlock it the car will start with the key. Unfortunately I was no longer by the car so could not test this out. I was able to get it to start a couple more times by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting. There is an after market viper alarm system in the car and I think that is what is causing a lot of electrical problems. Either installed wrong or switches have corroded and messing up the starter cutoff. Don't know enough about the wiring to test this though. Checked break fluid and it was empty, did not try adding to it but from what I can gather there is a broken brake line. Only other thing is the left turn signal stayed on when the switch was in the off position. When turning the right turn signal on the left still stayed on but the blinking became more rapid. Same when I actually turned the left signal on the blinking became more rapid. Don't know if a relay went bad. My step son said it was not doing that the last time he started it. Again the car will need to be trailered. Thanks, George
