Items will not be available for pickup or shipping until full payment is received and cleared by our local bank. Buyer has 7 days to pay in full either by bank wire transfer, mailing check, or cash in person. Customer has 30 days from end of sale to pick up or make arrangments with me to have the vehicle stored. All items are sold AS IS with no warranty of any kind unless specified in the ad. We reserve the right to remove any listing due to on site sales. We also require that bidders internationally or with feedback score of zero contact us.Fee and Tax Information: Customer pays sales tax and registration in the state they are from, we do not collect it. The deposit is non refundable, by backing out of the deal, you willingly forfeit the deposit. I bought this rare 1950 Chevy half ton short box pick up truck over twenty years ago from the previous owner in carthage South Dakota. It is a small farm town in central South Dakota. He was the second owner of the truck. I am selling it as I am downsizing some of my private collection. Up until ten years ago, I used this truck as a daily driver and put up to 50 mile round trips with it. I stored it after my collection grew and I ran out of time to drive it. I pulled it out , did a tune up, rebuilt the master cylinder, and checked the gas tank. I noticed the tank smelled varnishy(rotten gas). I decided to run it off a aux gas tank as the original should be cleaned and flushed before regular use. The truck is running off the original 6 volt system. I put a brand new 6 volt battery in that goes to the new owner. I fell in love with this chevy truck becuase of the clean body (look at the pics and video to see how straight it is for the age) I was very impressed with the petina and overall look of this truck! The previous owner began to sand the paint to prep the truck for a paint job and I bought it before he had a chance to finish it. You can take this truck to the next level and paint it with very minor prep work due to how solid and clean the body is, or If you feel the way I do, you can leave it the way it is ( clear coat it to preserve the petina and original look) Notice in the pictures of the running boards, where the fenders meet the running boards, and where the fenders meet the cowl are all very solid and clean for the age. Everywhere I have driven this truck, I have received numerous compliments on how neat this truck looks and the originality of it. The only thing I am aware of that is not original to the truck is the starter is wired to the key ignition rather than the foot starter (easy to put back if you wish) The engine runs quiet with no smoke, knocks, or misses (as video shows). The clutch shifts all gears like it should and the brakes work the way they should. This is a numbers matching truck with the original 216 engine and it comes with a clean title ready to for you to register. THE HEADLIGHTS, BLOWER MOTOR, and DASH LIGHTS WORK. It has the original seat with the original upholstry (see pic) and has a seat cover I have used. The kick panels are solid. The floor has some rust in the center pan and some small minor rust spots by the battery compartment (pictured and LMC truck has center pan available very reasonably) The doors are both solid and open and shut great the way they should. Both windows go up and down. The glass is all there but some of the glass has cracks in them (pictured)(Lmc truck has replacments available reasonably). If you were to use this as a daily driver, I would upgrade it with new tires (tires have tred but are weather checked/older) and since it has the original wire harness, I would replace it (old cloth harness) I drove the truck for the first time after pulling it out and retweaking it for about 5 miles or so up to 60 mph and the truck handled and rode like a 1950 truck should with no major issues I could see. This is definitly a truck that you can show the way it is, use as a everyday driver with some minor tweaking/upgrading and have a ball while doing it, or take it to the next level. This is a very rare truck in that the petina is to die for and shows fantastic, It starts right up and drives, and that is a half ton short box with very little rust. The bed has a steel plate in it with plywood under it. I do not want to overcall this truck or undercall it, let the video, pictures, and description tell the story. Customer pays sales tax and registration in the state they are from, we do not collect it. The deposit is non refundable, by backing out of the deal, you willingly forfeit the deposit. If no contact is made within 24 hours, we reserve the right to relist the vehicle, sell the vehicle to the next highest bidder, or sell it otherwise. please remember you are bidding on a used vehicle and must understand that there will be normal wear and tear on the vehicle. We do our best to show you every fault we can find but somethings things may go unseen to us.
