Vehicle Detail
Today is a sad day for me :-( I purchased this car new as a special factory order in the fall of 2002. It is a 2003 model year 911 Carrera 2 X51. The car was driven on the street for about 500 miles and then converted for drivers's education / track use. Subsequently, as my skills improved, it was further upgraded for racing. I campaigned it competitively in PCA Club Racing and Nasa GTS challeneg in the 2006-2009 years. I was able to podium in a number of races including Watkins Glen and NJMP. It is a 2:05-2:07 lap car at Watkins Glen, probably closer to 2:00 with a pro driver. The car was involved in a incident at NJMP during a NASA race. It had started to drizzle and I was dueling with a BMW for class lead and we both got a little too heated. We bumped gently (my driver side) and we both went off track. The car ended up rear into the tire wall with not much momentum left. The damage was basically the rear bumper, tailights, rear wing/decklid and mufflers. I decided, over that winter to put the car on a diet while I had it apart and was working on it. That included further gutting the interior, removing the factory dash and moving to an AIM type system. Unfortunately, my business (employer and sponsor) experienced a significant slow down and the project had to be put on hold. Sadly, that slowdown eventually led to its demise and now I have to sell the car. So, that leaves it in its current condition as an unfinished project. Here are the specifications: 2003 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 X51 Engine (345hp factory) - includes upgraded camshafts, intake manifold, oil pump / baffle system, larger headers, ECU - approx 200-250 hours 6 speed manual transmission - rebuilt at PowerHaus with "Cup" car close ratio gears, race syncros, Cup limited slip (max speed approx 165 by gearing) B&M Extended race shifter on elevated (Cup car) mounts with B&M short throw linkage on transmission Spec racing clutch Revo ECU flash for 100 octane Air Conditioning systyem removed, auxillay radiator cooling fans removed IPD intake Y pipe, BMC filter, Cup cr solid engine mounts Estimated 400hp (approx 350 rwhp) Moto Clubsport coilovers - 1100/1300 springs I believe - we did a lot of testing to get the right spring rates in the car GT3 Cup adjustible lower control arms, front and rear, Adjustible Heim joint upper rear control arms, GT3 cup adjustable rear toe links GT3 Cup adjustable sway bars, front and rear with Heim join tie rods GT3 Cup front and rear brake system, Brembo GT3R from 2 pc rotors, standard Cup rear rotors, Cup front brake ducts GT3 Cup from bumper and splitter with 3rd radiator and tilt kit to flow air through and up through bumper vents (not like street car where the air goes under the car) GT3 Cup carbon fiber rear decklid and wing (damaged) Cro-moly fully Cup car style roll cage with door bars (gutted doors), plus rear strut tower cross link Carbon Fiber / alumnium front strut tower brace Lightweight battery (no good), bracket, battery kill switch, etc. Cool Suit system (2 shirts included if they fit you - medium) Traqmate data acquisition system with GPS receiver and dash display Wired for VHF 2 way radio system (radios not included) Recaro drivers and passenger seats, Sparco harnesses (expired) HID headlights, Haltron fire system, Front and Reat Cup tow hooks BBS Magnesium (yes, the real deal) 3 pc wheels, 18/9F 18/11R primary wheels with Hooser R6 tires Second set of BBS Magneiusm 3 pcs wheens, 18/8.5F 18/10R rain wheels with Hooser rain radial tires BBS Steel stud kit and lug nuts (spare studs and lug nuts included) All damaged parts (wing, bumper, etc.) and most interior (dash, etc.) parts included - everything is shown in the pics except the rear bumper Ok some other notes - engine was running fun up until the winter when the car was taken out of service - with the wiring apart, it cannot be started. I have and am including full electrical wiring diagrams anlong with lots of other electronic documenation (manuals, parts guides, etc.) I will put it all on a CD-ROM or USB stick. The cost to complete the project and have the car race ready will depend on who does the work, what kind of parts you use (CF vs FG wing and bumper for example) and what you choose to do with the interior. The car would also make a great basis for converting another car, maybe one with a blow engine into a track/race car. Any questions, please email. The car is available for sale locally as well and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time if someone puts a deposit on it.
