Vehicle Detail
R E V I S I O N-------- This was listed for $500 last summer --nobody interested. I listed last month at $400 --3 inquiries. I replaced the tires and wheels with 2nd rate stuff and lowered the price to $300. If it doesn't sell this time I will get my tractor and drag it out by the barn and deal with it next year. The car is probably a "parts car". It MAY be repairable. Again, it MAY be repairable. I had a friend who has been working on cars for 40 years---including rebuilding wrecked cars----he said "It could probably be fixed" .He said sometimes you can't really say for sure until you start taking them apart. My son fell asleep at 6:00 A.M. going to work. His car was in the shop so he borrowed this car. I thought about having this friend repair it for me but I found a nice VW Rabbit Diesel pickup that I'm having him paint for me.He doesn't have time to work on 2 cars---he has a full time job. I put a battery in it temporarily---does NOT NOT come with battery----to start it before I started this auction. I turned the key to the "ON" position and listened to the fuel pump---it did NOT reach pressure and shut off as it should. I looked under the vehicle and fuel was leaking from the fuel tank area. I knew it would not start with the fuel leak so I had my son turn the key to crank the engine as I sprayed starting fluid into the throttle body----It started immediately and ran as long as I continued to spray. When it stopped there was more gas leaking in back. I'm in OHIO about 15 miles from the bridge that takes Interstate-70 over the Ohio River into Wheeling,West Virginia. I'm enclosing photos of a 1985 Quantum Station Wagon that's located another 20 miles north of me. It is the same color and is sitting in a salvage yard. The owner said it was OK for me to include this information in my auction. He wants $300 for the windshield and all the front end parts needed to fix this car. The TIRES AND WHEELS SHOWN are NOT on the car now. I put 13" steel Rabbit wheels with crappy tires on the car and lowered my asking price. If you would rather talk call 740-769-7749. I have free long distance service---let me know and I'll call you back. The LAST 3 photos show the 85 WAGON IN THE SALVAGE YARD----My car is the FIRST 8 photos. (Remember I swapped wheels) I have no heavy equipment but I will help load any way I can. Someone on ebay is trying to sell a 5 cylinder ENGINE with 118,000 miles for $300---- this engine has 44,000 and you are getting the WHOLE CAR . This car cost over $14,000 in 1984. It has A/C, power windows, power sunroof. If you don't want to repair it, part it out and double your money.
