1973 Triumph TR5T - Matching numbersNice running little bike. We traded this bike for a (big) box of Norton parts. The engine had been removed from the frame but not tampered with. Since the engine was already out of the frame we stripped the bike and rattle canned the frame, etc. We replaced the entire front end with NOS Triumph parts. New top and bottom alloy triple trees, steering stem, tapered roller bearings and races, fork tubes, fork seals. Only flaw on the bike is the fork tube shaped dent on the front of the aluminum gas tank…we don't know what happened here…hence the new front end, but frame is true and straight. New chain, Emgo air filter, seat cover. New petcocks, new clutch and brake levers. Original points ignition starts first or second kick every time. We fabbed the side covers out of Kydex™, a flexible plastic material used in aircraft interiors. We have the original right side cover in good condition with ignition switch. We also have the ORIGINAL exhaust in excellent condition and we'll include that in the sale as well. Period correct PrestonPetty® rear fender and taillight unit. We found a replica PPetty front fender on ebay and it looks perfect on the bike. Someone removed the gauges so we don't know how many miles are on the bike. Strong motor. Transmission shifts great. Clutch doesn't grab or slip. Lights and horn work perfectly. No title...sold with bill of sale only. We can help you procure a Texas bonded title for $300. Great little rider, sounds fabulous with the straight pipes or a great candidate for complete restoration with the included original exhaust.
