Vehicle Detail
This is a super nice 1975 Suzuki RE5 rotary, an early "Wurlitzer" model in "Firemist Orange". It was part of a collection from California. The owner's estate was being sold and managed by an east coast Harley Davidson dealer. I bought 4 or 5 metric bikes there. The dealer kept mostly the old Harleys and Indians. This one does not exactly fit my collection, so I listed it here. I believe this to be a completely original example. The odometer shows 4367 miles and the tires are the original Bridgestones. The body and frame paint all looks original. I bought a new correct battery. I oiled and turned the engine over by hand and gingerly started it. (Of course, it fired right up). After running it several times, I gradually brought it to operating temperature to make sure all hoses were tight and radiator was sound. There were no oil or coolant leaks. I took it for a very short spell down the road just to make sure everything worked. I changed the brake fluid but the front brakes still stick slightly. The bike should have basic service prior to regular use, or is ready now is for a lineup in your collection. Its a very good original example to add to any collection. This bike was last registered in 2002, then stored. The bike starts up fine. It starts, runs and idles well. The inside gas tank is clean, There are no dents or scratches in the gas tank or fenders. All chrome is good. It has the original hand tool kit (i.e. wrenches and stuff). The petcock is vacuum actuated. I installed a small fuel shut off valve so that I could positively shut off the gas and run the carburetor dry. I do not leave today's ethanol in any vehicle for very long. Since then I did drain the gas. You also get an extra flip cover for the front gauges. I did not detail this motorcycle. The way you see it is exactly as I purchased it. I did not even need to wipe it down. This is a super clean motorcycle. 1975 was the first year for this bike with its unique styling. It was produced only two years but only made one year in this form. Clear Pennsylvania title in my name. Because of the age and nature of the bike, you are buying it as is. Email for an appointment to see it..
