Vehicle Detail
This rare Turbo Trans Am Pace Car was apparently painted black by the original owner, who wanted performance and did not like the white offered in the Turbo Trans Am. The Paint has seen its age, but it was a quality paint job from what I can see as they did the jams and even replaced the stickers. I'd call the car a 10 footer, and if you can live with black the car can be touched up and used as driver quality. The worst blemishes are on the bumpers where some of the paint has cracked. The car body is very solid, no rust to speak of. Rear wing is warped and cracked (common). The car comes with 2 of the original rims. The tires on the car are new (for the record, I did not put those rims on the car :))The CARFAX and odometer show approximately 45000 original miles, and from the interior of the car, I believe it to be correct. Front seats have some scuff and wear, rear look as though they have never been sat in. Carpet is very good, dash very good. Original Stereo is missing (someone had a big stereo in this car at one point). Rear window was tinted and I started removing as it was peeling. Many little things work, such as dome lights, button to open the trunk latch, again making me believe that this car is actually 45k original miles. This car is obviously not perfect, but I will be selling it priced accordingly. I've just invested in new 42 lb injectors and chip to have the car stabilized and running. The car sounds great with Borla style exhaust. Overall this car can be a great project for someone looking to get into the low end of the rising market. I am sure that this car will need to be gone through, but it has great potential to be a great driver. Please Note: I have hardly driven this car, so I can not make representations that car is mechanically sound. It is a bit of a mystery. That said, it runs and idles well, and I've been moving it in and out of my garage over the last week or so and it started every time without struggle. I'd like to stress that this car is a PROJECT and should be considered a car that will need additional investment to operate. Things like brakes, suspension and transmission are likely to need additional investment. Two routes to consider for a buyer: 1) Paint the car white and really go through the car mechanically. Between purchase price, paint, the car should still cost less than any other on the market with 45k miles.2) Touch up the black (you will never see another black TTA and the fact that this car has been black its whole life is historic is a weird kinda way) and slowly go through the car mechanically. In my opinion, these 'supercars' are the next to go up dramatically in value. Please check out Hagerty price guide and see that the trend is starting to spike up. It should be noted that NH does not provide titles for cars of this age (+15 years). The car will be sold with a current NH registration and bill of state, and your state should honor this. At one point last night I had 5 text message conversations going on the car at once! A couple of things 1) Exact mileage on the odometer: 44,672 2) There is an 0 before the 44,672 (044672) 3) I'm going to add pics of the Carfax that I ran when I purchased the car since I've had some questions and pulled it from my files (see picture updates) 4) This is a project car, not a show car! On May-07-14 at 06:26:05 PDT, seller added the following information: Wow the things you learn from putting a car out there: Apparently this is car #1184 of the Pace Cars!
