Vehicle Detail
One very straight, clean 1965 El Camino. VERY RARE factory combo options. Basically a one owner car from California, ended up in Idaho by original owner in his early 80's. VERY clean interior, (rear view mirror needs replacing), bench seat in perfect condition. VERY RARE FACTORY OPTIONS: FACTORY color: Sierra Tan. FACTORY remote driver's mirror. FACTORY AM/FM radio, ($400.00-$500.00). ONE YEAR ONLY. FACTORY A/C, FACTORY TILT WHEEL, FACTORY SOFT RAY GLASS (light green), MINT CONDITION. FACTORY VINYL TOP, (how many of those do you see? Needs replacing though). V8 327. Original emblems. TURBO GLIDE Tranny........ Just serviced, and shifts PERFECT. FACTORY Power Steering. FACTORY Power Brakes. FACTORY 12 Bolt Posi Rear End. After market cruise control, and tach. Original color is SIERRA TAN, repainted, a root beer brown. The bed is MINT......... protected by a serialized hard fiberglass tonneau cover. You could EAT off the bed! Does not have original exterior mirrors. They were replaced with "bullet" style mirrors when re-painted. Old school Torque Thrust rims, with Toyo tires. CONS: Has minor dent by driver's side tail light, an easy fix, and has a primered '66 tailgate. One very fixable rust spot when you open passenger door, below door hinge, on top of rocker panel. I will post more pics by Sunday of interior, and exterior. Dimple in grille, and front bumper has some dents, otherwise straight. ALL ORIGINAL. A RESTORER'S/COLLECTOR'S dream! PROS: The original owner from California was worried about rust issues being in snow country, and had the entire undercarriage heavily undercoated........... "twice", because he was so worried about snow. Snow doesn't cause rust! Salt does. That was prior to the State of Idaho laying both salt on freeway, and Magnesium Chloride at intersections in city limits in 2002? So this Elky is pretty much RUST FREE. I have the original carb...... 4bbl, which was replaced with a Holley 4bbl electric choke. I also have the original steel wheels, two of which are dated........... I'm still checking the other 2. Also the original owner's "PROTECT-O-PLATE", and owner's manual. Strong running 327. Dash is MINT. When parked in garage during winter, (fired it up every week), I found half a dozen penny sized oil drops in 7-9 months. Awesome Power Glide tranny, serviced before I parked it for the winter, and have receipt. Dual exhaust sounds nice. So........ a 327, with factory 12 bolt posi rear end, and 99% rust free!.Place a bid............ before it goes to Jay Leno's garage.......lol. Serious buyers only, call 2 zero 8, 968. 9729, and leave a message. I'll return your call. Will assist with shipping, clear Idaho title. I'll consider best offer.......... shooting high, but will take best offer. Your offer just may take it. Last pic is one I copied off the internet to show original color. Thanks for reading this ad. Any questions, give me a call. 2 zero 8 968 9729......... leave a message after the Magic Jack greeting! On May-07-14 at 12:59:18 PDT, seller added the following information: ADDITIONAL: Added a few more pics. to show a couple of rust spots. One developing behind driver's seat on panel, and other already mentioned in listing, (I'm pointing to it), both a VERY easy fix..... Minor dings in bed, otherwise straight. There are a couple of cracks in dash pad. Added a pic. of under carriage to show how well preserved it's been. For a '65 Elky, you're looking at an easy restoration without getting upside down. This is one HONEST El Camino which doesn't need typical front fender patching, rear quarter panels, etc. Does need air, and or new rear air shocks. Haven't had time to play with it. To the best of my knowledge, ALL mechanical, electrical, etc. in good working order. Radio still works. If you know El Camino's, you can run the V.I.N, and Data plate, and know what you're staring at. A GEM. With new paint, and a little interior/exterior cosmetics, this Elky will put $25,000.00 Elky to SHAME.......! I encourage all bidders to call, as I don't want any disappointments. This is the Elk to restore, and I would love to see someone buy it to keep it's originality, and not butcher it up. If you want to modify a '65, this may be the wrong rig for you. Car sold "AS IS, WHERE IS". Buyer's responsibility to make shipping arrangements, as stated, I'm more than happy to assist. Seller has option to end listing at anytime. BID with CONFIDENCE............... GOOD LUCK TO ALL. On May-07-14 at 13:13:48 PDT, seller added the following information: NOTE: I exceeded amount of pictures. Serious bidders please contact me so I can send you additional pics. I will only send to active bidders, my apologies...... and thank you. On May-08-14 at 23:12:57 PDT, seller added the following information: "HELLO" to all bidders, who wish not to see Data Plate, or make a phone call................................. This is a "RARE" El Camino with a "Vinyl Top". Do your home work. Could be upwards in the $125,00.00 to $250,000.00 mark with the right color paint, and restoration. Hey "Jay" give me a call bud. Do the math people. You're staring at a one of a kind......................................... Geez......................................... Happy bidding Bidders.
