Vehicle Detail

This 1960 Plymouth Belvedere has been in the process of restoration for quite a while. It is not currently running, though the motor and transmission are installed. The body is straight and no evidence exists of this car having been wrecked. Clear title. The person who buys this car will not have to do much hunting for parts. Included with the car are tons of chrome and interior parts. Original nuts, bolts, clips, etc. have been maintained, as well. Even the trim pieces for the dashboard are included. The glove box door has even been customized by Von Franco. The seats have been re-done in red and white roll-and-tuck vinyl and are beautiful, as they’ve been stored and never installed. The engine is the original 318 wide block. The mileage in the description is what is showing on the dash. E-bay forced me to give the mileage (21569). I have no way of knowing how many times the odometer may have rolled, if any at all. It appears that this car also had air-conditioning at one time, judging by the buttons. Also has the original radio. All in all, this car is in great restorable condition and is a real head turner. Receipts for mechanical work that we have are as follows: The engine was re-built about 7 years ago Engine was disassembled, cleaned, and put back together with a new gasket set about 4 years ago Front sheet metal was hung Transmission "run through" Front suspension rebuilt Front brakes rebuilt Heater box patched Front end assembly rewired These are the mechanic’s descriptions of work done. You will be provided the receipts upon purchase. Bodywork done on the car is as follows: Welded in floor patches Prep and paint floor and interior panels Install sound deadener Front quarter panel (passenger side) was repainted. Front bumper and grill installed That being said, there is moderate hail damage to several areas of the car and much of the paint job (done 10 years ago) was poorly done. Some of the chrome is pitted, as you might expect, and could stand to be re-chromed. The good news is that it could be installed as is and wouldn’t look bad. It does need a headliner, carpet, and door panels. I do not have the original door panels, so you would have to find or make the patterns and get them re-made. It also needs the push-button transmission connected. Beyond that, I’m not sure how much more you would have to put into this car to get it on the road. I’ve been told that it’s very close to being drive-able, but I can’t say for sure and I don’t want to steer you wrong. This rare car is sold as-is, though it’s far ahead of most project cars that I’ve seen for sale. There are more parts than what are shown in the photos. This vehicle is being sold locally and I reserve the right to pull the auction should it sell. Cash or cashier’s check only. This Belvedere is located in South Austin, Texas. I will answer all questions as honestly and accurately as possible. Bear in mind that I am not a mechanic and may not be able to help in some areas. You are invited to come and view the car in person. I’m happy to help accommodate any shipping that you arrange.
