Toyota Land Cruiser restoration shop offering this 1967 FJ40 on a no-reserve bid to buy auction. This FJ40 was a barn find in northern Idaho. This is a good “core” vehicle for restoration. It’s mostly stock and complete, 98-99% rust free. Hard combination to come by these days. I’m selling this as a non-running restoration project. I pass out business cards in every little rural town I go through in search of these vehicles. I buy every good FJ40 I can get my hands on. I have quite a backup of vehicles to work on, letting a couple go. If you are looking for a project that is mostly stock and not rusted to the ground with a good clean title, this may be for you. FJ40’s are one of the few vehicles you can invest money in and get it back out when you move on. Auction houses are regularly selling FJ40’s from 60-101k. This truck does not run, I have not tried to run or drive it, last licensed in 2012. This FJ40 was parked when the owner died, I bought it from his estate. 1967 model year is emissions exempt in all states I know of other than Nevada, 67 may be the 1st exempt year there, check your state to be sure. Last picture on my trailer, day I bought it. MECHANICAL The original F motor is gone, was replaced by the better later model FJ40 motor used from 74-83, the 2F. This 2F motor turns over. Looks like a new Holley 2 barrel carb, probably done around last use in 2012. 3 speed floor shift. PO started a power steering kit, did not finish it or do a nice job. The real GM Saginaw box is there, I would take it off and sell it, worth some $$. No battery. BODY The body is in good shape speaking FJ40. Hard to find these that are not completely rusted out. The rear sill lip needs to be replaced as always, fenders are un-cut. There are dings and dents as seen in the picture. The stock seats are there, home made front and rear bumpers. There are some small missing pieces here and there. This truck is a great start for restoration. I’m told it lived in N. Idaho it’s entire life, never saw road salt, frame is excellent, no evidence of any wreck. The windshield and seal are bad, I will probably remove for transport, the rest of the glass is good. Rear auxiliary fuel tank. Mostly surface rust, very minor spots of rot, very good amongst most FJ40’s. Please click or copy and paste this link for 56 pictures of this truck. I’m selling this as a non-running project, I do not have time to do any additional work to it. If you are wondering if you can drop a battery and put gas in, then drive it 2500 miles, please keep your dreams alive but pass on this FJ40.
