For sale a very good example of the Pony that started it all, first year 1964 1/2 ( 1965 ) Mustang Convertible. Car has factory installed A/C and the 289 cubic inch V8 ORIGINAL engine. Only 20k miles, restored about 5 years ago. This is the very first edition Mustang, sold for the fist time exactly 50 years ago as a 1965 model. THE GOOD: New top, new paint, upholstery and tires. All belts, carb, distributor and brakes have been replaced, fully serviced and tuned. THE BAD: Convertible top canvas needs to be re-glued to one of the supporting bars. Has two small rust spots on one of the doors. OTHER: Original trunk cover, jack and spare are included. One of the wheel center caps fell off but it will be replaced prior to sale. Very sharp RED on WHITE color combination. Original radio replaced with a version that allows you to connect an IPOD but looks like the original. I bought it from a lady who had won the car in an auction. I have driven it for approximately 2000 miles since then. Always kept it in heated garage and detailed it often.Car has all numbers matching and drives very nicely. Tons of power, in fact, you can drive all the way up to 100 mph without effort at any time. Needs no work, very good condition and everything works as it should. Perfect for the collector or enthusiast who just wants to drive away and ENJOY !
