Vehicle Detail
1973 240z. This Z has the desirable 1972 carburetor. I bought this Z from a friend of mine in 2003. He had owned it the prior 20 years. This Z has been in California since at least the early 1980s, if not its entire life (evident by it having very little rust). I am the third owner to the best of my knowledge. I have not garaged it but it has had a car cover on it when not in use. I drove this Z regularly (once or twice a week) since I've had it, but it was not my main car. I was not trying to restore it but did several improvements along the way. I am not a mechanic and have always had it maintained at Camarillo Independent Honda. They have the repair records. Probably dropped at least $7-8 G into it over the years improving it and repairing stuff to keep it running. But in recent years it has had no problems. It runs great (it can start on cold mornings, which can be a challenge with some Zs). new windshield includes car cover and seat cover (for driver seat) paint job in 2004= $1,800 new tires (BF Goodrich) new chrome mags (style is original Z mags) new cd/stereo system (w/2 new rear speakers) new electrical system new ignition system new battery registration is $79 per year, no smog color is steel blue metallic major repair: left inner tie rod, front and rear struts, spark plug + points, rear bushings, drive shaft, new heat hoses: total = $2,434 This description may not include every detail and imperfection about this car. I did the best I could including 18 pictures. Car is used and is being sold as is. There is no warranty. I am happy to answer any questions. Need 500 deposit within 48 hours of auction end and balance COD (money order fine) within 7 days. Shipping is buyers responsibility. On Apr-19-14 at 12:09:21 PDT, seller added the following information: The car was white when I bought it and had been white back to the 1980s. One of the original color schemes was red interior and white paint. But I am not sure what the original color was. I checked it again for rust and found some below the back bumper (on the edge of the metal that is near the gas tank). Also found some around the bottom edges near front wheel wells, and under front bumper (again, edges of metal). Will try to add these pics tomorrow. I checked for dings and found 7, all of them very small. There are also several places where the paint has chipped, but mainly in places that is hard to notice. Note: The pictures I took were taken one week ago. You can see in them that any paint chips, rust, and dings are not noticeable. But they exist, as to be expected with an older vehicle like this. Paint job was 10 years ago.
