Up for Auction is my wonderful newly restored 1966 Ford Mustang Convertible. Matching numbers. very original C-code v-8 automatic. I've had the car for awhile and have just now completed a 2 year professional restoration. If you are looking for that perfect 60's icon, this is your car.The body and paint work are flawless. It is painted the original Ivy Green- paint code "R". The body work was done an outstanding restoration shop. The car was painted in every crack. The car was reassembled. New seals were installed. TheTwo stage paint is striking. Everyone loves the paint. This car is rust FREE. There and no scraches or nicks. During the restoration I wanted the car to stay as original as possible. We saved original metal where it was good and replaced what was needed. EVERY panel and every frame and support are in excellent condition.The new interior is the deluxe Pony interior also done professionally. New black convertible top. The interior is very tight The floor board, frame rail, torque boxes, and all boby panels are perfect and rust free. No real body filler- the body lazer straight. The original 289 engine has been completely rebuilt from top to bottom at a local engine retoration shop that specializes in classic engine. rebuilt 2bbl carb. We did not harden the valve seats, and I have use lead additives in the gas. I am very excited about the way the car starts and runs. New Flowmaster dual exshast. new fuel, trans and brake lines. I did not intend to sell the car now that is is finished. I love the way the car came out, but I do need to sell it. I did drive it about 100 some miles late summer/fall, and I love the way it drives and stops. manual steering and drum brakes. The original C-4 transmission was rebuilt and shifts like a charm. I brought the car to a car show where everyone stop and look at it, it is that great of a car. You can drive it anywhere. I have never driven the car on salty roads. It has always stayed in the garage . There nothing to hide on car. It has had a complete on full restoration. I love the car. The gauges work. The white wall tires are new, and the brakes are all new . I wanted to have a wheels alignment done. It does not pull, but I still wanted to check that. The heater box was all redone. The original AM radio and new speaker works. You'll be able to show this car. drive the car. just plain have fun with it. I kept the car original. The car does come with an original full floor console that is shown in 1 or 2 of the pictures I didn't know if a buyer would or would not like a console. So I have not installed the console.. You would be hard pressed to find a 66 Mustang convertible that is as nice as this car. Ford Mustangs are 50 years old this year.
