Up for auction is an awesome 1949 Chevrolet Coupe. It is just the 49 body on top and has been married to a 1994 Chevy Caprice chassis. All running gear is Caprice consisting of a General Motors 5.7l LT1 8 cylinder naturally aspirated motor paired with an automatic transmission. Car has air bags installed at all 4 corners with an air tank and 4 solenoids in the trunk and will lay frame. The air ride needs a pump and wiring to be permanently wired up. Although, the air ride is functional by filling the tank from an air compressor. The wiring on the air ride has not been permanently hard wired, but it is all functional off 2 switches in the dash. The fab work is not 100% finished, but is complete enough to be driven. The car starts and runs well with no misfires or smoking. We took the car for a very quick drive down the road to check shifting of the trans, brakes and steering and everything seems to run well. we did not run the car up to temp or check to see if the thermostat came on or the fans would cycle. The car has a new battery, fuel pump and tires. We checked and the brake lights are working, but we did not check any other electrical components. Cosmetically this car has a very nice patina look. The original paint is gone and the body has surface rust on it. This car also has no carpet and has two gray cloth seats. The car has a secondary cluster from the Caprice inside the dash for water temp, gas level, RPM etc... The window cranks are working and the door handles work and latch as intended. THIS IS AN UNFINISHED PROJECT CAR THAT WILL DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD. MAKE SURE YOU WANT A PROJECT BEFORE BIDDING. A LOT OF THE HARD WORK HAS BEEN DONE AND WILL NEED SOMEONES FINAL TOUCHES TO MAKE IT THEIR OWN. This car is titled as a 1994 Caprice.
