1970 HONDA CT 70H MANUFACTURED 6/70 4 SPEED MANUAL CLUTCH VIN# CT70H-114454 (LOCATED ON THE STEERING HEAD) FRAME # CT70-114454 (LOCATED ON THE SIDE OF THE FRAME) ENGINE # CT70HE-114480 (LOCATED ON THE LOWER LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE) "PLEASE NOTE: I LISTED THIS BIKE SEVERAL DAYS AGO AS NEEDING A HEAD GASKET. I MADE A BAD DECISION IN ASSUMING THE INFORMATION I OBTAINED ABOUT THE BIKE WAS CORRECT." LET ME CLARIFY I acquired this from a individual who last year himself recovered it from storage. I was told the carburetor was cleaned and a new battery was installed and the bike fired right up but that the head gasket was leaking then the bike was parked. It remained in storage until last week. In my haste to get this bike into someones possession who would enjoy it, I made an assumption that I typically try to avoid and assumed that worst case scenario to be true. In fact, it was an exhaust leak not a "head gasket" leak. ALL THAT BEING SAID, I SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO LOOK A LITTLE CLOSER. "ANOTHER LESSON LEARNED" I PUT SOME FRESH GAS IN IT, CLOSED THE CHOKE, KICKED IT ONCE AND IT WAS RUNNING REMARKABLY WELL. GO FIGURE.... I IMMEDIATELY NOTICED THE EXHAUST LEAKING AT THE PIPE UNDER THE HEAT SHIELD CLAMP. THE PIPE ITSELF HAS A HOLE BURNED THROUGH UNDER THE SHIELD CLAMP. WITH THE CHOKE OPEN THE BIKE IMMEDIATELY IDLED DOWN AND PURRED. NO SMOKE AT ALL FROM THE PIPE, VERY RESPONSIVE. I THEN TOOK IT DOWN THE DRIVE AND CONFIRMED A WELL WORKING TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH. THE CLUTCH CABLE HOWEVER GAVE ME A FIT AS THE CABLE ITSELF IS NOT ONLY CRACKING ON THE OUTSIDE BUT IS SLUGGISH AND BINDING. FRONT AND REAR BRAKES DID THEIR JOB JUST FINE BUT AGAIN, ALL CABLES NEED TO BE REPLACED. REAR BRAKE LIGHT DID WORK, HEADLIGHT DID NOT, THE HORN GAVE IT IT'S BEST EFFORT BUT NOT CONSIDER IT NOT WORKING........THIS WILL MAKE A GREAT RIDER OR AN EASY RESTORATION PLEASE REVIEW MY FEEDBACK AND BID WITH CONFIDENCE AS I AM NOW CONFIDENT THAT THIS LITTLE 70 IS WORTH THE EFFORT! VERY SOLID BIKE AND IT IS AS NICE AS IT APPEARS IN THE PICS. TAILLIGHT LENS IS GREAT, CHROME IS NICE WITH NO PITTING. HANDLEBARS ARE VERY NICE, MUFFLER IS REALLY NICE LOOKING WITH THE BUT AGAIN, DOES HAVE A BURN SPOT UNDER THE HEAT SHIELD CLAMP, FUEL TANK IS CLEAN, FRAME IS NICE, ORIGINAL KEY, DOES NOT APPEAR TO HAVE BEEN WRECKED AT ALL. STEERING FORKS, HANDLEBARS AND CONTROL LEVERS AS WELL AS THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ARE ALL STRAIGHT, ENGINE SURFACES ARE VERY NICE, TRANSMISSION AND CLUTCH ARE GREAT, SHIFTS UP AND DOWN FINE, CLUTCH HOLDS ENGAGED WHILE RUNNING VERY NICELY, TRANSMISSION PULLS STRONG AND DOES NOT SLIP. ENGINE RUNS VERY SMOOTHLY AND QUIETLY WITH NO ABNORMAL NOISES, IDLES STEADY, STARTS EFFORTLESSLY EVEN WITH A BAD BATTERY, FRONT AND REAR BRAKES WORK WELL, ROLLS & STEERS SMOOTHLY AND TIGHTLY, SEAT PAN IS GREAT, BRAKE LIGHT DOES WORK PLEASE LOOK AT PICTURES AND FEEL FREE TO ASK QUESTIONS IF YOU SEE SOMETHING I MAY HAVE MISSED.
