Vehicle Detail
1987 VOLVO 240 4-DOOR SEDAN - RENOVATED You are bidding on a 1987 Volvo 240 4-door sedan. This California rust-free vehicle has 136K original miles on the engine and body. It has an Automatic Transmission with Overdrive, power windows, power door locks and Virgo Alloy rims. The vehicle has a clear title. This car was owned by a college student in California and registered in Alaska. He moved out of state and sold me the car. I spent two month renovating the vehicle. Recent repairs and upgrades include: Engine: > new timing belt, timing belt tensioner, & cam, intermediate shaft and front crankshaft seals > new intake manifold > new throttle body > new air mass meter > new exhaust manifold, exhaust manifold gaskets & new O2 sensor. > new California Legal catalytic converter, exhaust down pipe. > entire exhaust system replaced. > replaced the entire engine evaporative system. > installed new NGK spark plugs, Bosch distributor cap and ignition rotor > installed new Bougicord spark plug wires and coil wire. > installed new exhaust stove and aluminum stove-to-air box hose. > installed new air box temperature sensor and air filter. > changed oil (20W-50) Castrol GTX oil & Mann oil filter. Suspension: > replaced the front ball joints and tie-rod ends Brakes: > installed new front and rear brakes > installed and painted front and rear brake calipers Cooling System: > rebuilt radiator, upper and lower radiator hoses, new water pump. thermostat and thermostat housing Electrical: > new alternator bracket and alternator, alternator, A/C and power steering belts. > rebuilt engine mercury hood lamp > rebuilt the windshield washer motor, and replaced all wiring to the pump. > replaced and re-routed battery and starter motor electrical leads > replaced 25 amp fuel pump fuse and holder with new units > Cleaned and replaced all engine ground leads. > replaced fuel injection coolant temperature sensor , knock sensor and engine temperature sensor. > installed new electric radio antenna. Lighting: > replace left & right rear tail light assemblies and circuit boards with new Volvo units > replaced front left and right headlights and signal light assemblies. > replaced brake light switch with new unit. Interior: > installed new e-brake console, center console cubby and seat warmer switches. > installed new front side door pockets. > installed front and rear Volvo tan floor mat trays. > replaced the entire glove-box assembly with a near-new unit. > installed new under-dash mats and clips. > installed new front dash mat. > installed replacement rear left & right seat belt covers and rear hat shelf material. > installed replacement rear trunk mat, black board rear seat to trunk divider and right rear inside trunk corner piece. Exterior: > installed new windshield wiper bladed and black wiper arm caps. > installed four Virgo (Turbo) 15" low profile alloy rims with chrome bolts and good (used) tires. > installed new front chrome grill > replaced driver's door lower valence strip. > installed Yakima roof rack. This engine runs very well and has a very responsive transmission - in all gears. This vehicle is a truly excellent example on the classic Volvo 240 Series and well worth the investment.
