Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1979 Corvette L-82 This is a local Corvette from Polar Chevrolet. I know the basic history of the car as have had 6 others and always did a lot of searching before buying. I normally looked at 10-15 before buying within 500 miles before finding "a right one". I buy clean, and keep clean and history is #1 for me. This car is a driver with normal paint chips by wheels and other areas. This car was ordered by a single female from White Bear Lake (Mpls/St Paul) . She took it to the local Lake with a JetSki. You can see from the window sticker (re-produced), but it had a “factory” trailer hitch option. The only year offered from factory. I could not prove at all, but the left front fender could have been repainted or replaced, the factory alloy rim "feel" when cleaning seems a bit different but not by eye. I am anal. These Corvette’s were still made at the Missouri GM Factory plant. The plant was not known for great paint work. The non-stock items that I believe exists are not real OEM Factory floor mats and door sills when you get in. The car has real minimal T-Top leakage (if any). Leaks some oil. I had it checked and gaskets. It is a driver. To my knowledge, the car has always been owned/located in the Mpls/St Paul area. It is in storage at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. I had to jump start it today as they require the battery left in the vehicle. The engine did run a bit rough. I have a clean title in hand with no liens. Please note that the Window Sticker has been reproduced and does NOT have correct VIN on it, and also I messed up the mirrors (they are not power). It is titled in Montana. I own 5 cars, moving to California on June 1st and always garage my items and just can't do it in California with my 5 cars. Jay Jaymbrooks@aol.com. I have never listed a car on EBAY, so bear with me. These Corvette’s were still made at the Missouri GM Factory plant in St Joseph, MO. The plant was not known for great paint work. The non-stock items that I believe exists are not real OEM Factory floor mats, believe chrome tipped exhaust covers only, and door sills when you get in. The car has real minimal T-Top leakage (if any), but I used WD40 on the rubber seals and no more water leaks. Leaks some oil. I had it checked and gaskets. It is a driver. I own 5 cars, moving to California on June 1st and always garage my items and just can't do it in California with my 5 cars. If you are looking for a 9-10 Corvette, this is NOT it, nor priced. It is a driver, numbers match, real clean, great history. Many Many "nice car" comments from tons of people. Jay Jaymbrooks@aol.com. I have never listed a car on EBAY, so bear with me. On Mar-29-14 at 05:36:20 PDT, seller added the following information: Please look at all the pictures. I have never listed on EBay Motors before and I was going to change location of each picture and they tell me I CAN NOT. Stupid and I can't even understand them on their help line. New subject- I only have 1 set of keys. These could be original as have GM on the actual keys.On Mar-30-14 at 11:48:32 PDT, seller added the following information: Addtl Comment/Questions answered: The car was never driven in the snow/salt. All of my Corvettes have come from Midwest (mainly Minnesota) as no sun, no extreme hear, garaged, and they aren't driven in the snow) I would stay FAR away from a Minnesota one that has seen salt. The undercarriage looks typical for a 35 year old car. No salt rust or nothing that is going to fall apart. Sorry, EBay motors would not let me change or edit after 1st bid. The speedometer cable is broke. I would drive the car about 3-4 times a month in season. It was about 1 month prior that the speedometer needle was "jumpy". What I meant to say was that it has about 700 unaccounted miles. I am a realistic seller and when I sell I am totally honest. I am not a mechanic and ability is able to change a tire or jump start and it stops there. Jay On Apr-01-14 at 17:14:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Got the car out of storage today, started on the 1st try, idled on "Cold Idle 1200rpm" for awhile, ran a bit rough, let it warm up and used maybe 80% full throttle to about 80mph and it ran superfine and shifted good. Some Oil leaks where it had been parked. Car is nicer than I remember it. If it doesn't sell, I will keep it and ship it to California. Let me recap: Non OEM items - battery is a Energerizer, black floor mats, chrome tips on exhaust (maybe 4-5" long), door sills say "CORVETTE" - OEM said nothing, air filter is a FRAM, non GM/Deco spark plugs, and oil filter. Not working items - Radio & Power Antenna, A/C, electric clock, speedometer cable & cruise control, oil dipstick broke when storing it last fall (day of) & I have new one coming but they delivered it to my business and it is coming to my residence. 1" rips on black leather bucket seats seams - hard to see. I did spray it off after getting it out of storage and the right T-Top did leak maybe 1/4 cup water and wiped up with 1 paper towel. Jay On Apr-02-14 at 19:27:35 PDT, seller added the following information: Sorry - Don't mean to write a book here, but the car's A/C doesn't work and hasn't for years. Never looked at it, we are in Minnesota and I just didn't need it in that car.
