So here's the story on this little guy. 1979 cm400a - automatic motorcycle, purchased for my wife but ended up being the 2nd bike. After a summer of riding we finally got this thing dialed in - rebuilt and synced both carbs, brand new tires, new brakes w/ Galfer steel line - and it was running perfectly. The next day a woman tries doing a U-turn on a one way street and T-bones the bike- impact was dead on the left side cover (shown). It was enough to slightly tweak the frame, and the insurance company totaled the bike. There is oil leaking from somewhere but I was so disheartened by the accident I never looked to see where it is coming from. Anyway there are a ton of parts in great condition on this machine, and if you wanted to build an automatic bike this motor would be a great jumping off point. Now for the unpleasant disclaimer: You will need a way to pick this bike up and get it home. I can not deliver, or arrange delivery, or hold on to the bike for 3 weeks while we wait for your cousin to bring his truck from Phoenix . There is no title. NJ required that we file and pay for a new salvage title after the accident, and I didn't bother. I will not go to the DMV with you, or research title law, or anything similar. The bike is being sold for parts only.This bike is sold as-is. Your bid is not "pending inspection". Please do not try to re-negotiate the price after winning the auction, or bring a friend to "take a look at it" before picking up. If you want to come check the bike out before bidding I will try to accommodate you, but once you have bid and won you own the bike.
