Vehicle Detail
I bought this car as a parts car for a Sunliner Convertible that I restored. I traveled to Louisville KY to get it. Its originally from PA. At the time I needed a Flathead V8. I got the car and it was so nice I kept it in tact, except for removing the air cleaner, radio, steering wheel, front turn signals and the slant side trim to use on the covert. I found a different engine, for the convert. As it sits today, the car still runs, and drives, registered and insured. I tried to sell it a few times, but without success. I am trying something new. I have often though about rodding this car. I know...its a fordor. But it's straight and solid, with tight door slams. Drive as is or do minimal bodywork and repaint if you want. It took me years to find the Flathead 8 for the convert, so I don't mind keeping this engine. just try to find one. If you do, chances are the block is cracked. This engine is original, stock, and unmolested, so what the heck...I'll keep it! So the car is for sale as a rod project. NO ENGINE...NO TRANSMISSION...No Radiator. This auction is for Body and Rolling Frame only, with the wide whitewall tires (older and yellowed, but still a good matched set) Car has original wool upholstery and headliner. still pretty darn nice for the age. Bumpers are straight, but front is painted and rear is a little rusty. There is some bondo in the doglegs and rear quarters, and some paint sun fade, wear, on the top sides (actually nice patina). All the glass is good, and yes, you get the cool visor. Front grille (propeller) is in the trunk, since a guy told me he would crawl over broken glass to get one! If you want the Engine, auto transmission and radiator ($400 recored)...essentially leave the car as is... ADD $2000. (two thousand dollars) to the AUCTION SALE PRICE. If you do not want the engine , tranny and radiator, please give me 2 weeks to pull it all out. Car sold as-is, where-is. Its a nice survivor, but its still an old car, and not perfect. Buyer has responsibility to ask questions, and view and test drive if possible. Car is in Lakewood, CO, minutes from Denver and I-70.
