This car was purchased new in Torrance Ca in 1976 by a former neighbor of mine. She lived to be 98, and had bought the car when she could still drive. Soon after she only had her elderly son drive her once a week from her home in the Malaga Cove part of Palos verdes Estates to nearby Lunada Bay in the same city to get her hair done and buy groceries. She passed on about 10 years ago, Then the son passed about 4 years ago. I then bought it by asking about it on my morning walks. I live about 7 houses away. I couldn't believe what a survivor it was. It still has both of the original dealer license plate surrounds. The car runs and drives great. It is super quiet, and can cruise around the hills effortlessly. The car is currently smogged and registered. It's a blast to drive Originally advertised as the "only convertible built in America," the Cadillac Eldorado was sold as a legend-to-be and remains one today. Lifelong Cadillac owners lined up to buy the boat sized convertible cruiser and in fact, Cadillac had never built a Cadillac convertible of this size and most likely will never build one again. Cars have since shrunk in size and the idea of rolling down the street in a living-room-equipped vehicle outfitted with a 500 CI motor became a thing of the past. In terms of cruisers, there are not many comparables available today, sans a few Bentley or Rolls-Royce convertibles.This White on white with blue dash and carpet this 1976 Cadillac Eldorado has traveled just over 11,500 miles since new. The Eldorado has had 2 owners since new and has never lived outside of 10 miles from where it was originally sold. The body of the car is in excellent condition and has benefited from lifelong garage storage and occasional So. Cal driving. The Eldorado has all original glass which is in wonderful condition and the front windshield is perfect! The chrome on the Eldorado is original and has been well kept and the trim is excellent as well. The top on the car is the original convertible top and its high quality speaks to how well this Cadillac has been kept throughout the years. Open the doors of the Eldorado and it's like stepping back in time. The leather is still soft and supple and the often damaged door panels are crack free. The dash does not have any sun damage and the controls exhibit nearly no wear. The back seat looks like it has never been used and the steering wheel is free of cracks. The car has just been fully serviced with all fresh fluids, cold AC and is ready to cruise.For the collector looking for a wonderfully cared for Eldorado with a So. Cal History and perfectly preserved, this is the Eldorado for you.
