Vehicle Detail

Let me start by saying, this car is not a ratrod! I put this car together to capture the post war dry lakes look. The chassis is a boxed and x membered model A that was near mint. The body is a very decent 28 roadster with excellent subrails and structure. The front end is a wide beam un dropped 32 axle and unsplit wishbone, steered by a F1 steering box. Rear end is a 40, converted to open drive, with a faux quickchange. Both front and rear springs are reversed eye originals with a few leaves removed. The engine alone has five grand or so into it. It is bored 3 5/16 x 4'' stroke, cam is a 400 jr with refaced original Johnson hollow tappets. This block [59 A] was factory relieved, so reliefs were smoothed and blended, as was the intake and exhaust ports, Valve gear is all new, with Lincoln zephyr valve springs. Oil pump is the big, high volume one..Flywheel is a new weber aluminum. The heads and intake manifold are new edelbrock, in the interest of dependability. This roadster is put together with as much real, original ford parts as humanly possible, with the exception of the dual master cylinder, for safety and the ford truck RTS top loader 4 speed for cruising. This car is very close to being drivable. I am whittling down my collection, I know I should finish this car, or at least get it drivable, but I am afraid if I do I will never part with it.
